Went out in my garage and noticed the cobra leaning to the side. Seems the passenger side rear was flat. I filled the tire and waited a day. Looked again and the tire was flat again. Pulled it out of the garage and noticed a nail head sticking out. Filled it up again and took it to Discount Tire. Well it seems the nail took a trip to the side wall and scared the cords. "Sorry sir can't plug this tire." $230.00 to replace the tire. Only 1000 miles on the tires. The guy says he's going to call Goodyear to see if they will pro-rate the tire for me. I'll keep you posted. By the way went to the Goodyear tire store to compare prices and they were at $275.00. go figure.

Pretty good price cut. Is that with SVTOA members only pricing?

Discount Tire is pretty hard to beat. They are usually the cheapest in Denver. Discount always fixes flats when they can, even when you haven't bought the tires there (like on OE tires) but are a previous customer.

Nice to see a fellow Littleton cobra. Discount can not be beaten. Never have seen lower prices. Drop an e-mail by to look at both cars.:allhail:

I picked up a nice drywall screw at a carwash frequented by construction trucks last summer. The "neighborhood" tire place basically told me to pound sand. Discount fixed it no questions asked.

CHEESE AND RICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! $230.00 i had a feeling those F1s would be a little on the high side. I ran over a nail a while back but it was a slow leak i got it to the ford dealer and they fixed it no prob. NO CHARGE! i guess i should put a few bucks back when it gets to be time to buy new tires.

I don't know if I would trust a plug on at tire that could potentially reach speeds in excess of 150MPH.
That bites that the tire had to be replaced through no fault of your own. I thought I had it bad when I was paying $100-120/tire for AT tires for the truck.
In the bigger scheme of things, $230 is a small price to pay to keep a $35K vehicle on the road.

I think the guy actually told me that the tire on our cars are rated at 180 mph. No I don't trust a plug in a tire for that rating. If I ever go that fast I hope someone would just shoot me.

I actually paid closer to the $38k mark for my 03 zinc yellow conv. How did you only fork out $35?:wtf:

I got a hurricane nail in one of my tires (still a little suspicious about that). For 10 bucks Discount Tire took it off and spent 25 minutes sanding, patching, applying, layering, heating, texturing, etc... to get the patch just right so that the tire would maintain it's V rating. They said that if the patches are done a specific way that is mandated for V-rated tires that you could have the tire patched up to 3 times and it would still maintain it's V-rating. :tmb:

Keep in mind that there are at least 2 versions of that tire. There is a code like "W98" or "W93" that is different than the Corvette tire. Our heavier car requires the higher load rating.

:D Good year gave me half price on the tire as a good faith type deal. I also got road hazzard for all four for about $140.00. Considering one new costs 230 I think its a no brainer. Thanks to Discount I am back in business for half the money. :tmb:
