What is your favorite music genre? That is, when you are driving your SVT, what tune is playing in the back of your head?

RUSH band, with song Red Barchetta. Great driving tune. If you've never heard it before, I certainly recommend it.

Mostly listen to The Tragically Hip, Rolling Stones, Pearl Jam, Black Sabbath, and of course RUSH.

first you sound proof your car like a Lincoln, then you tell us you listen to AM talk radio....

I only have one question. How did you escape from the nursing home? A red hot sports car is a nice disguise, but it won't last for long!

I listen to alot of different types of music. When I drive, there is only one kind I must have. The Audiophile setup in my Focus is just about perfect for this type of music.

I fall into the electronic category. I almost love it all. Trance, house, electronic, chill, dance, etc. I don't like drum and bass or jungle, but everything else is game.

My favorite DJ's/artists are (in no particular order) Seb Fontaine, John Digweed, Paul Oakenfold, Chris Fortier, John Creamer & Stephane K, Tarantella/Redanka, Steve Porter, Tilt.

I am an amateur DJ myself, and I spin similar types of music. I have played at one club, once, and a few house parties, nothing fancy. It is more of a hobby of mine, than a career or money maker.

OK I may be crucified for this (and probably deserve it) but in my morning commute I am a talk radio kind of guy myself. Not AM though, but the Howard Stern show:allhail: The rest of the day is anything goes.
I have a soft spot for early 80's hard rock, early 70s barroque (simphonic) rock and old jazz.
For driving however, there is nothing like electronic.

i like listening to the radio here cause I like what all it displays on my audiophile. they dont do song titles here yet, but they are good about call letters and such. one station even posts game scores! RDS is awesome if stations would just use it!

I was very funny that after they did the PCM reflash the radio started picking up some station and song names. I guess that while in the dealer those stations did start broadcasting this info. The timing was weird and surprising, though.:wow:

 Real Canadian heroes eh? But c'mon man I was listenin' to these guys when I was like, 9. Honestly though, Subdivisions was cool and Geddy Lee is definitely one of the ugliest men in Rock & Roll.

Yeah, been there till 8 in the morning all whacked out on red bull and vodka

I really do love the electronic genre but not so much the dance stuff anymore. Artists like Baby Mammoth, Minus 8, Groove Armada or one of many from the ESL label typically exemplify my interest here. ( I can see the looks on some of your faces. )

Rock? Pop? Yeah, I can even get into some Alt-Country like Beck or Neko Case- I love Beck. Coldplay and U2(an old fave) are guilty pleasures.

To each their own.

On a related note ( :haha: ) I just found out that if you hold down the mode button for the audiophile system on the steering column it toggles between the radio and your CD's. Whoo hoo! Gotta like it!

Arrive alive everybody,
Ho, ho, ho :)

Music is one of the pleasures of life that should not be limited by labels. I listen to everything from classical to rock, as long as I like it. About the only genre' that doesn't do anything for me is Rap/Hip Hop. Right now I have Pink Floyd, Meat Loaf, Santana, Chris Issac, Chris Botti and Eric Clapton in the CD player.

I like the old school 60's, 70's, and 80's rock.
Love to listen to Highway Star while driving.
Stevie Ray is a all time favorite.

I like all kinds of music though, from Rock to Zydeco, and even some Rap. Pretty wild for an old fart huh?
Is 40ish old fart category yet?

Got all kinds of stuff on my iPod that gets plugged into the CD deck in my SVTF... everything from '30s Big Band through be-bop, Frank Sinatra, Beatles, '70s and '80s rock, jazz fusion, a little country, and some off the wall stuff from Frank Zappa and Mike Keneally.

And you want me to pick just one category?!

How do you connect the iPod to the CD player?

Chucko
12-15-2003, 12:32 PM
I got an aux adapter from P.I.E. I've got the base CD player in my SVTF though; as far as I know, there's no way to get an aux input to the Audiophile system's changer.

"Ahh music"
I agree, one of the finest things in life. Variety- The spice of life.
My taste is fairly ecclectic, but my faves include, industrial-my favorite, punk, rockabilly/psychobilly, swing/big band. Also dig some hard core, hip hop, rock, and techno, but almost only d&b/jungle, Dieselboy is da shiznit!
Favorite bands include Funkervogt, Lords Of Acid, Sick Of It All, Static-X, B Ton K, Combichrist, Hocico, God Module, KMFDM, MDFMK, Paul Galaxy and the Galactics, well, the list just goes on!! Picking a favortie is such a difficult task, perhaps impossible, i think my list has changed already!
REdSVT, No drum and bass/jungle?? awww! Underworld though, some very good stuff. How bout The Prodigy?

Yeah, I had front row seats for these guys at a small venue here in town a couple of years back; easily the best rock and roll band to see live. Get it together Scott!

Scott Weiland was recently arrested(again) and ordered to spend more time in detox. I wouldn't exactly call that getting it together.

Their new single is kinda flat if you ask me.

Oh well,
Happy Holidays

If You Can't Dig the Blue's, You must have a Hole in your Soul.

Luv the Blues, Jazz, The Dead and almost all rock types. Not into the rap/Hip Hop thing allthough my kids listen to it ll the time, so I am exposed to it somewhat..

I am a Bassist and also play Guitar and Harmonica. I have a Project Studio in my home and also listen to me alot.

Luv the sub in my SVTF

No DNB/Jungle, sorry. Just not my style. Prodigy? Hell yes! Fat Of The Land is in slot number 1 right now in the car. One of my all time favorites. Crystal Method is up there with Vegas, and Tweekend. I have stumbled onto a rising new favorite though, Planet Perfecto presents Seb Fontaine. I don't know how new this one is, but the first CD = :allhail: says 2003 on the back of the cd cover.

Planet Perfecto is the label that Paul Oakenfold started. If you like electronic/trance/techno, might want to check this one out.
