180 degree t-stat is probably the easiest and the cheapest mod.
All I've done to mine in 8 years is the t-stat, underdrive pullies, K&N FIPK, Bassani catback exhaust and sound system.
Sounds good inside and out, snacks on Hondas daily and makes me happy.:D

I installed 1.7 roller rockers, underdrive pulleys, and a 1" plenum spacer and picked up 5 tenths in the 1/4 mi.
I have a 94L(2563 of 4007) with 120K. I was very pleased with the improvements. Next will be a JDM chip and exhaust.
Best run: 15.08@88.57mph
2.15 60'

The National Lightning Owners Club (http://www.nloc.net/home.php) has a lot of info on Gen 1 lightnings. I just bought a 93 lightning with 42000 miles from the original owner. It has Bassani short headers and Bassani nascar cat back exhaust. I love the sound, it's perfect. I'm not sure how it helped the ET's yet, but when I get a time slip, I will post it.

Call 1-800-FORD SVT. Give them the serial number and they will tell you the production number. If you fax them a copy of your title, they will send you a certificate with that on it. It's worth getting and it's free. I'm sending away for it today.

Update: I just faxed my info to SVT (fax #313-621-2500). I waited about ten minutes then called them to see if they had any sales stuff left. So he went to the fax machine and got my info and entered it into the computer right then. My certificate is on the way, free. I also asked if he had any literature for the 93, he said he had a sales brochure. That cost me $20. I have one but took a chance that it might be something different.

Advance the timing to 14*-16*, K&N drop in and 460 or Diesel inlet tube, change to 180* thermo. Underdrives and e fans are two really good mods but are more expensive.
Good Luck,
David
