Ok, I've bored everyone to death with this subject and it's time for me to buy..........Can anyone direct me to an "inexpensive source" for the Magnaflow cat back system and Pro-50 shifter as I have looked over the "net" and found a wide disparity in prices...The best I've seen is $385 for SS cat back exhaust and $189 for shifter....on the 03 cobra.

Thank you for your input...

I'm him'en and hah'en on the same issue.

I contacted MagFlow direct and they gave me the part number: 15644 for the '03 Cobra cat back and directed me to partshopper.com - $439.

Where did you find it for $385. That's significant. Is that plus shipping?

I haven't seen the Pro-50 shifter for less. Steeda is $10 more. I think steeda has a more ergonomic handle than Pro-50.

Any opinions on the shifter handle bends: Steeda vs Pro-50?

I don't know, but I've been told, that Pro-50 makes the shifter for Steeda, except for the handle. T/F?

PRO 5.0 does not make the shifter for steeda...i have PRO 5.0 shifters on both my 96 cobra and my 02 GT...the cobra hs the PRO 5.0 supplied handle...for the GT we bought the adjustable MGW (http://www.mgwltd.com) handle...its a very nice piece :)

Try this address: http://www.exhaustproslinc.com/mustang.html

I tried to get up under the car...not easy for 51 yr old and have noticed the cat back exhaust is not very long....Am thinking of replacing "H" with "X" pipe if dealer won't void warranty....but it looks like it would involve welding....I would prefer going with total system from exhaust manifolds on back...

As for the shifter, I purchased and tried to install the Steeda shifter. The directions came with a warning to use their mounting bolts as they were longer in order to make up for the 1/4 inch shifter base plate on their unit. The bolts they sent me were the same 1" bolts as on my 03 and I got miffed and sent it back. I don't like engineering goofs but I was happy they accepted it back without any hassle. Furthermore, I got an e-mail from them as they were interested in fixing the problem.

I hope they read this and have done so by now. the handle could use an additional 1" length towards the driver and 3/4" bend to the left.

Just received a reply from www.fulllineexhaust.com for '03 Cobra convertible part number 15644 for $360.00 shipped from GA to Houston, TX.

The part number is the one MagnaFlow, the company, provided.

The beauty about this forum is that those who make and supply aftermarket parts monitor this site and respond to price quotes by being competitive! Since this post started, I have seen a pretty significant drop in prices as those vendors want our business. I will order my parts accordingly.

Steeda, move the Tri axe towards the driver 1 inch and about the same to the left, get the right size mounting bolts and I'm in with your unit. Feel free to contact me on suggestions...
