 I just discovered that my PHP intake heat shroud ( stainless steel ) has been rubbing/chafing/cutting into my A/C line that runs to the front of the radiator area. It does not touch at rest with the car just sitting there, but I guess when the motor revs it moves over just a little and hits the line. Fortunately I discovered it before it ate all the way into my A/C line. There is a chunk of metal missing ! I installed the kit myself, so I have nobody to blame but me. I should have made sure that nothing was even close to the heat shield. For now I'm just running it without the shield, seems to have no ill effects so far, just exposed to hot underhood air when idling. Please check your installs to make sure this does'nt happen to you !!

Sorry man, I've got a Frankenstein homemade computer with no picture scan capability. The area that rubs is the front lower corner of the shield that's closest to A/C line. I discovered it totally by accident as I was wiping off the shroud. It did not rattle or anything. Just was quietly etching its way through my metal A/C hose. I'm sure I can either cut off the tip of the shroud corner and file it down or just bend it away from the line. Just wanted to get the word out so folks would at least check their PHP intake.

MadMax I have the same problem had someone point it out at the Silver Springs Roundup. I'm like you I think it is a easy fix. Rachrse
