For all the people that have met, raced or known Cliff and his Red Lightning, I just wanted to give you an update. He was diagnosed with small cell carcenoma a few months back (the worse cancer there is) and has been fighting thr good fight, as of last week he has opted out of treatment, and is at home with his family and friends on Hospice care.

I've known him from a few meetings at SVTOA On Track events at Summit Point, but more from a friendship built up on this forum.

I'm not in communication with Cliff or his family now, but know some friends of his that are.

All I can think to do is give him another point by. :frn:

Farm Truck V - The Sequel (http://www.kyhorsepower.com/svt_ky/FARM%20TRUCK%20V.wmv)

I fondly recall this ride in Cliff's "farm" truck.

Cancer has got nothing on what God can do. Cliff is now on my pray-for-list.

Sorry to hear that about Cliff. I met him a number of years ago an SVTOA on track event. We were both instructing. He's the kind of guy that lights up a room when he walks in and any event he attended was always more fun to be at. We instructors always kidded him about some of his off track adventures but he always took it in good humor.

I'll say a prayer for him and hope he pulls through.

All our prayers out to click

Many cannot remember Cliff by name but I'm sure for those who had the opportunity to meet him or have Cliff be your instructor at an SVTOA event know Cliff was a dedicated SVT enthusiast with a passion for putting his SVT Lightning on track and being an instructor for many.

Cliff did what most would not do on a truck and made it look easy... and his nature as a person was someone who made the world a better place.

All our prayer out to Cliff and his family..

If there ever was a “hero” to Lightning owners, it is Cliff Hemstock. He took driving a 4,700 lb. truck on a road course to another level. Seeing him out on track with the big dogs in Group 1 was always an inspiration to me and other L owners. His unselfish giving of time to the less experienced, both mechanically and in driving ability, is a lesson in how to be a gentleman at the track. His impact on the Lightning community will live forever through his series of Technical Help articles he developed for another website, a copy of which he posted in the ’99 to ’04 Lightning forum on this website.

Cliff is truly in the top 1% of the One-Percenters. My prayers go out to Cliff and his family.

I just received word that Cliff silently passed about 9:00 Eastern time this evening.

Sarah, Cliffs daughter told me that he passed very peacefully about 25-30 minutes ago. She and Cindy were both holding his hands.

God Speed Cliff.

Sorry to hear that. I will miss him. Everyone who attends a SVTOA On Track event in the future will miss the oppertunity of getting to know a true "good guy" . While I only knew him from the SVTOA events I attended I hope that he would have called me a friend because I know that I considered him one of mine.
