I complained to Oakridge Ford located in London last year about a clutch issue on my 08 GT500 purchased in Sept. of 07; it seems to slipping between third and fourth and making weird noises between shifts under WOT. Oakridge claimed that they couldn't find anything. Since I put it away for the winter there are about 8000 kms on it.

I noticed on other Mustang forums that there is a TSB on the flywheel and clutch for Shelbys built from 06 to August of 08 and if you wait until the warranty is over its a 6K fix. I can think of better ways to spend 6 large on this machine and it's not on a Ford clutch; I love this car and know there are mods coming when the warranty is up.

Apparantly, the flywheels Ford used are not standing up to heat generated and will warp over time. Ford has changed the flywheel to an upgraded part in August of 08. Mine was built befoe then. Ford has not issued a recall, but has repaired many of these vehicles if the owners complain under a TSB.

I don't drive it in conditions that would cause excessive heat, (they say stop and go driving heats them up) I am worried that the clutch will eventually fail given enough time and kms because I don't baby it either. Ford is changing the input shaft, flywheel, clutch, pilot bearing and tranny syncros under the tsb.

I don't really want to be blown off again by the dealer. I don't have time for this and I haven't modified anything yet.....good thing because it seems that Ford is looking for wiggle room to get out of fixing them properly under warranty. Any mods and they disqualify the repair.

Ford dealers have sold a number of these in Ontario. It would be great if owners could let me know what they have done, or their experience with this problem, or performance of clutch / tranny.

Does anyone know alternate SVT dealers who have a customer focus and they recognize that when we paid for these Shelby's we didn't want another 6k in added cost, but a higher level of performance and driving experience. If their is an engineering defect, own up to it and fix it properly. We paid for performance, not a hassle.

Any help or advice appreciated
