January South Florida SVTOA
Well I gotta tell you that I am getting excited, lotta things going on this month and in the immediate future. First the Mustang Round Up in Silver Springs, (http://www.npdlink.com/flash/ss2003roundup.html ) several of the Clubs are planing to convoy up to the event. Locally the Mustang Club of Ft. Lauderdale is going to leave on Thursday to participate in the Pony Trail and the show( for more info. http://flmustangclub.com/Event.htm ) The Tampa Bay Chapter of the SVTOA has several meeting points for the event (for more info. http://www.tampabaysvtoa.com/).
Dyno Day -- Saturday January 11th. Now I am really getting excited. We have 20 signed up firm, and about 20 maybes. If you haven’t signed up yet and want a time let me know before Friday. I am sure that we will have some spots available so show up. There are a lot of folks that said they want to come and hang out, that’s good to. If you plan to make mods to your car between runs, please remember to bring your own tools, as mechanics can get down rite grouchy when you ask to “borrow” something. Dave over at TCH racing has provided an excellent map at http://www.tchracing.com/razorsedgemap.jpg We will have some kinda food, probably picnic stuff hopefully gratis (that’s “out of kindness” if you do not speak Latin) if not for a couple of bucks. Razors Edge takes Cash, Checks, Visa, Master Card-- No American express or Discover cards. You might be able to barter auto parts if they are unused and still in the original boxes.
The monthly South Florida SVTOA meeting will be on Tuesday January 14th, 7PM at Maroone Ford in Margate, on Copans just east of 441. (In case you are interested my back is a lot better, and I will be in a more festive mood this month.) Food will be available, but I have not had a chance to talk to Berry about it. (In case you are interested he is the Hurricanes biggest fan “Cobracane” and he is not in a festive mood) Hopefully we will have some goodies from UPR and Steeda, and anybody else who wants to contribute. Dave will be there with a complete list of shows and cruises that are available. We need a good turn out at the first meeting of the new year, for your input into what you want to do. You Lightning, Focus, and Contour guys/girls need to be reminded that this just an’t a Mustang Club.
Harvest Café January 18th , 6PM 9740 Griffin Road, Davie FL, on the SE Corner of Nob Hill and Griffin. Come on out sit and talk, eat dinner, whatever, a nice small Cruise every Sunday night, plenty of parking easy to get to and oldies music.
Future Events
The Palm Beach Mustang club is having a high performance track day on April 12th in conjunction with MCA and Steeda at Moroso. Check here www.palmbeachmustangclub.com for more information and to register. This is an excellent opportunity for those of you who have not participated in a track event to get schooling and drive. The cost is $200 for non MCA members, that’s for 2 hours of track time. To put that into perspective for you ---- on a test and tune night you may get 4 runs for $15, and if you are running at 15 seconds or below that’s $15 per minute, If you get 120 minutes of track time at $15 per minute this is a $1,800 value for $200. Not a bad deal.
I have been invited to Sebring on the 25th of this month to participate with Tampa, Orlando, and National SVTOA, with Steeda, to finalize the plan for the SVTOA National on track event scheduled for May3-4. Tentatively there is going to be driving schools, On Track Events, (now I am really really getting Excited), Car Show, SVT/Ford Management Discussions, you name it. If you have any input as to what you would like to see, tell me at the 14th meeting, or at the Harvest Café on the 18th.
Well I have been a little long winded this month, more to follow.
