Last weekend, I took a trip to Ft. Cambell, KY to help a friend swap a motor in his wife's ZX2. I had a friend from NC drive out there with me. Some of you may remember him. His name is Zach and he attended the Dragon run earlier this year. We had fun and got 85% of the swap done before we all had to call it a day. The weather was decent in the beginning of the day. 55 degress for most of the day then around 3:30pm, the wind started blowing. The temp dropped to 33 and the wind was a constant 20mph with 30mph gusts...then it started raining. Anyways ....on to the pics. :)

Fixin' to leave my house for the 4 hr drive there...it's butt crack thiry in the morning......

In the back ground on the engine stand, is the motor that we are putting in. The one on the "picker" is the one that got pulled out.

Well...I guess that's it. Another motor swap down the hatch. These Zetec's are pretty simple to do in the drive way with just a little help. Out of the 4 of us that showed up, only 1 other really knew what they were doing besides me so the others became the official "gophers, grabbers and holders".

What happened to the original motor?

A little crank walk that caused a rod to seize. :hehe:

Great job, but it looked like it was kind of cold....

Wasn't to bad in the beginning but when the temp dropped 20*, it started raining and with the wind blowing like crazy, it got real chilly real fast....
