We are getting closer to the January 25th Go Cart Event at Arnold's in Oaks ,Pa and I would like to get a head count and some idea of where you will be coming from to set up a meeting place to caravan there. If you know how to get to Arnold's and wish to meet us there, I need to know that also. Please let me know ASAP to finalize arrangements. I realize weather may play into this activity, we'll keep a close eye on the forecast.
Thanks,
Herb
PS, You don't need to bring your SVT along for this event!:spinem:

Fred and I are going to meet up at a Wawa in Bellmawr just off of Rt42. Most of you guys from the Atco, Millville and other areas like that will probably be jetting right up 55 or 42 anyway so it's a good place to meet. If you aren't taking the highways and prefer Rt 30 or Rt 168, it's pretty easy to get to from either of those roads too.
I don't have the address here but when I get home tonight I will post it. We were going to meet up at about 1:30 PM. That gives us an hour and a half to wait for any stragglers, get moving and get to Arnold's by 3 PM. This allows for traffic that may be encountered due to construction at the Plymouth Meeting Mall interchange and the 202/422 interchange.
Someone suggested meeting at a place on the PA Turnpike. That is going a bit out of the way considering that Arnold's is only about a mile and a half off of 422. At least for us Jersey guys. I don't know what kind of accommodations can be made for that, it's open for discussion I guess.
I do have addresses for Arnold's and the Wawa, like I said so finding either one should be a piece of cake. The PA guys shouldn't feel obligated to make a trek across teh bridge just to meet up at the Wawa though.

Ok, here are the addresses I talked about above.
Here is the one for the Wawa:
112 Edgewood Ave
Bellmawr, NJ 08031
It's easy to get to, literally right off of 42 at the Internationa Business Park in Bellmawr. I think you can even see it from the highway. If not that, I know you can see the Sunoco which is like right in front of the Wawa. Just go there and look lost and Fred or I should be able to pick you out pretty easily! ;)
Here is Arnold's address:
Arnold's Go-Kart Ctr
422 Business Ctr
Oaks, PA 19456
When I found the directions in Mapquest, I had to select points of interest then Amusements and parks or something and selected it from the list. If I can help anybody out with any directions or anything, let me know. :bna

Jstas

My helmet has a clear visor on it that slides down over the opening. Does that count as goggles?
Sharppony
01-14-2003, 04:24 PM
That will be fine. Eyeglasses are also OK. I guess you are required to wear eye protection to prevent debris from getting into your eye. Duh! Probably an insurance requirement. When I was running Saturday afternoon, the cart in front of me lost the front wheel and spindle. I saw it come apart and avoided hitting the debris. :) I guess driving in rush hour is good practice after all!

Hi everyone,
I'll meet up at Arnold's, with my son.
By the way, anyone know of a place in Delaware Valley that sells Bell helmets, so I can try on various models and sizes, rather than just order online?

I'm disappointed Fred won't be there! Are you looking for a ride up there John?
Jstas
01-22-2003, 02:40 PM
Nah, I know exactly where the place is. My friend lives less than 5 miles away in Phoenixville. In fact, since my significant other can't come with me, I was gonna snag him on the way up if he wants to go just so we can keep the head count up and maybe qualify for some discount or something.
I was just meeting Fred at the Wawa because he wasn't sure where he was going. I figured it'd be a good place to meet because it is literally right off 42 and can be seen from the highway. If anybody else on this side of the river didn't know where they were going, the could stop there and tag along for the caravan.
Just trying to be your friendly neighborhood Lightning owner!

Well Fred would kick my ass in a straight line but I'd probably waste him in the turns so it'd be a pretty even match.

So I go to turn on my home computer last night to upload the pictures from my camera and it won't turn on. I screw with the plugs, power strip and try it in a different outlet. Next thing I know, there's smoke and fire coming out of the exhaust
outlet for the fan in the back of the computer!!! I start yelling and Roxanne comes running in. I wildly start unplugging everything from the wall and power strip and rip the computer out from under the desk to blow out the flames. Poof!!!! Up in smoke!!! I did notice that the red light next to a barrel shaped symbol on the front of the unit kept lighting up and then going off after I kept trying to turn in on. Now it's dead. I've got to recover the pics from the hard drive and then I'll post them... :fryem: :jawdrop: :bash:
Jstas

The computer isn't dead, you need a new power supply. Get a new power supply and it should be peachy keen. If you don't want to do it yourself, take it to a CompUSSR or some place that does PC repair. It's a simple job. I could do it in my sleep. Hell, I swapped out an entire motherboard, installed a new processor, hard drive, power supply and memory in my girlfriend's computer in about 35 minutes, last night, while watching King of Queens.

Don't worry about it dude, power supplies fail and they are probably the cheapest part of the whole computer to replace. It's not uncommon for the to just quit working. It is fairly uncoomon for them to catch fire. That's a good reason to clean things out every so often. Dust is a fire hazard. I'm just glad to hear that your house didn't burn down or anything. That would have sucked!
