With the new drive by wire throttle bodies out on the market, Ford designed them with safety in mind. They were designed to prevent the throttle body to come fully open in case of a malfunction. I would highly suggest anyone, that is considering a custom tune to take your vehicle to a professional tuner with the aftermarket tuner device and have them dyno/tune your vehicle. A preprogramed tune is okay temporarily, however I had a defective tuner that was blowing the #8 low-voltage DLC fuse. I sent it back to the company that built it and they replaced the OBDII cable on the device. I re-installed the temporary tune then my car would not start. A dealer code came up telling me that the throttle body motor actuator was damaged. now I have to replace the throttle body and get a new free of charge non- preprogrammed tuner. Also note I am not completely new at this stuff, it was a name brand tuner pre-tuned by a name brand company, that was defective. This technology is still very new and unpredictable. This was only to inform you, not to turn you away from doing aftermarket additions to your car, just be ready for the unexpected. On a different note my father with a naturally aspirated 2006 Roush Stage 1 (modified a bit.) has a professional custom dyno/tune putting 309h.p.@312 Torque to the rear wheels and running great.

In regards to my previous post I have more info. on this what has been a fiasco with SCT tuners. I cant tell all the technical aspects of what happened other than this tuner was blowing fuses, so I sent it back to SCT to be repaired. Once I got it back I plugged it back in and then my car wouldn't start. I called Ford with my dealer code that came up(throttle body error). So eventually with the help from Pro Modular Performance, Mike Murillo Motorsports, and Diablosport, my car is now back on the road.( I am still trying to get SCT to compensate for all the inconvenience this has put me thru.) I almost forgot, SCT also told me at one point that it was my cold-air kit that was the root problem of all this! I'm not an idiot.
