SVT is bringing a Shelby GT500KR to Gingerman Raceway to the Ford Fest sponsored by SVTOA this weekend, July 12-13, to give people rides on track. These rides will be for Charity and we are asking for a $10 donation that will go to the St Judes Children's Hospital.
These will only be available on Saturday.
There will be a second KR at the event for everyone to look at. A SVT engineer will be there to answer questions about the car.
Rules for the Rides
1. Must sign track and event waviers.
2. Wear long Pants and Long Sleeve Shirt and SA2000 or about Helmet (we do have loaner helmets for use)
See You On Track :spinem: :spinem:

We raised $500 for St. Judes Children's Hospital this weekend. Thank you to SVTOA, SVT for bringing the cars, Eric for driving all day Saturday, the SVT Mechanics who helped with getting people in and out of the car (and made sure the car continued to run without a problem) and to all who contributed to take a ride.

I was impressed with the traction control system on the KR. It stays passive with moderate wheel spin the slip angle. Also, the car gripped the track well on street tires.

Those "street Tires" are a special R compound that are only available on the KR. They have a tread wear rating of 140. They look like the Goodyear F1 tires, but have a different compound in the rubber that is unique to that tire for the Shelby.

As Dell mentioned, they are only available on the KR. The KR will be the only car available in the US, by any manufacturer, with those special compound tires. Not only that, but they are not currently available for public purchase. You can't just hop on Tire Rack and order a set.
Down the road, they'll be availble for sale, but not in 2008.

No offense to Marcie, but this pic should be on the website home page, and yes I know Gregg can't change without a democratic and republican agreement from Congress.
