Hello everyone, haven't been on this site in a while! I was wondering from those of you that have had more time with there GT-500's than I what the best sounding exhaust is out there for this car. I checked You tube for some videos but it's hard to tell which set up sounds the best. I want to do a complete exhaust including headers like my 03.
Thanks John :spinem:

I believe Bassani, and Borla have complete exhaust systems available for the GT-500. I also believe that they only have long-tube headers, which are more expensive, and are harder to install(o2 sensor relocating kits are also available I think thru Steeda). Now Ford Racing does have ceramic shorty headers I have been very pleased with, and are much easier to install.

I'm going with this one (http://www.stangmods.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=00888) from Ford Racing, which is 50-state legal and of course fully Ford-blessed (OEM on the GT500KR). It is FRPP part number #M-5230-SVT1. Also going to have it installed by my local Ford dealership for additional "insurance" against any car-warranty issues.

I just installled the SVT1's, it was the right choice for my tastes. I tried the FRPP 5GT's and they were too loud and droned BADDDDDDDDD

I went with JBA's silver ceramic coated long tubes, 3" X-pipe with high flow cats, and 3" cat back with the 4" "Shelby by JBA" tips. NO DRONE at any rpm and you can listen to the radio with no problem. Loud at WOT but nice rumble at idle and cruise. Best of both worlds IMO!!

Yikes! That's pretty steep for a couple of mufflers (err, I mean an axle back exhaust system)

We just added the FRPP Exhaust and cold air. An amazing difference. The exhaust is really nice when you accelerate hard. A smooth sound at 65 (or 80). Installed by the dealer.

Alot of people are just going with the new FRPP #M-5230-S mufflers, they're the one's on the KR.

I did the Ford Racing 48 street legal. I am really happy with them. Lots of positive comments from Car Folks...

I'm up in the air as well, but I did have a Bassani X-Pipe, Corsa Cat Back combo on my 05 Silver GT and it was an animal and just really sounded obnoxious. So much that I had to remove the Bassani since the neighbors were complaining. :) The Corsa was fine by itself and I lef tthat on the car. I'm seriously thinking on getting the Cors again. It's worth the money for barely any cabin noise IMO. Good luck though.

I have a full Bassani system on my 07 GT500 and I would never change it for anything I sat on here listening so youtube clips of each one before I got it. So you might try that if you are wondering how it will sound on your car so youll know.

Corsa Sports axle back for me - absolutely love them. Quiet for sneaking up on folks then gutteral howl when you hit the loud pedal. Best of both worlds. Totally addictive. Worth the money for no drone and terrific quality.

Dynatech Longtubes w/ their off road x-pipe and a Magnaflow Magnapack 3" Catback best sounding exhaust setup I have ever heard on a GT500 and the only package I sell my customers.

I went with Corsa. They are perfect if you do not want loud and a drone. I love the tips as well. It took me about 2 hours to install.

I had the M-5320-S on my 2008 GT500 and they sounded fabulous. I couldn't use them on my 2010 because they are 3" too short. Ford Racing makes the M-5320-SA's for the '10/'11 cars. They have the longer tips to fit the new valance, and are black powder coated and sound just as sweet as the previous versions.

Ugh. I was afraid there was going to be a large difference between the previous models and the '10s.

I'm not much into the straight through sounds, I prefer chambered, specifically MAC. They drone, but just sound amazing. Unfortunately it doesn't look like they make one specifically for the 2010 model yet. Guess I'll just stick with stock for now. Thanks for posting that info!

Hi John, not been on in a while myself. I put Borlas on my Baby and am nothing but satisfied. Really has the lowest, mellowest tone!!! I've heard several, and will stick with my Borlas!!!
