I have had a few people ask me when the new membership kits will arrive. I paid my renewal dues a month or so ago and have not seen anything. How long is the wait going to be?
Thanks,
Mike

Hi, Mike!
We wanted to do something special for our paid members this year, so we came up with two different 2008 fulfillment items this time around. For NEW members, we went through all of the SVTOA membership kit materials that we had developed for the previous owners and updated everything. Since the ownership of the club just changed hands on April 17, we've only had a few weeks to re-do all the materials, get new 2008 Ford Racing CDs shipped to us, collect updated fulfillment items from our remaining sponsors -- and, NEW FOR 2008 -- now incorporate SVTOA member #s with the membership cards!
PLUS, as an added bonus, Marcie is including in ALL of the 2008 new member kits one of her superb $20 SVTOA 18-month full-color calendars as a FREE bonus!
Now, what about a reward for our RETURNING members, you ask? (Some of them who may already HAVE the new 2008 SVTOA color wall calendar?)Well, we worked on coming up with a surprise bonus for them, too -- as they had to endure a year of not getting all of what the previous owner had promised us.
So Marcie went to work designing a special, limited-edition "SVT 15th Anniversary" commemorative full-color 24x36 poster that she is having produced RIGHT NOW! This poster will feature all 15 years of SVT vehicles and will be sold at the SVT 15th Anniversary Reunion at Carlisle for $15 each -- but will be sent to EVERY 2007 member who re-ups with us for 2008 ABSOLUTELY FREE OF CHARGE! Instead of putting a new 2008 membership card along with the collectible poster inside the poster tube, you will receive a 2008 SVTOA Membership sticker to affix to the back of your current black SVTOA Membership Card. On it is printed your name, your hometown, new membership number and membership expiration date.
Each year that you renew your membership with us, you will receive a new sticker for the back until the cards get redesigned (similar to license plate tags). If any 2007 member that renews for 2008 needs a replacement card, simply contact us at membership@svtoa.com and we'll send you a free replacement via first class mail.
New member kits are being printed this week and are going out this weekend. Returning members will get their re-up bonus posters and membership card renewal stickers right after the 15th Anniversary posters arrive in Carlisle and become available for distribution. We'll get a shot of these limited-edition posters up on the home page next week so that you guys can see just how cool they are. (Plus, anyone who buys one in Carlisle on Saturday can have it signed by an SVT program engineer for your SVT vehicle -- or get a picture taken with the SVT engineer next to your car!)
You should also know that the national staff had NO start-up funds transferred to us from the previous owner, so we have absorbed the cost of these items ourselves as goodwill gestures for our loyal members. What's more, our club event insurance is now paid and in effect, and we'll be fronting the cost of publishing and sending ALL 2007-2008 members the brand-new Spring 2008 issue of SVT Enthusiast -- the one with the GT500KR on the cover -- that goes to press next week.
Look for Carlisle coverage in the Summer issue -- and an exclusive SVT product reveal in the issue after that! We do apologize for any delays, but we're a small staff that has tried to hit the ground running and deliver as much as we can as fast as we can. We've got lots of new ideas in store, and we're out to show SVT lovers everywhere that our SVTOA is the ONE and ONLY club that can deliver on the TRUE SVT experience!
Hope to see and talk to you ALL in Carlise!

Mark - new member kits were mailed last month. Renewals are going out now (Looks like you renewed). The reason for the delay, we wanted to get the posters sent out with your renewal (bonus for renewing!) and we received the posters from the printer just before the Carlisle event. Sorry for the delay, but we wanted to make sure we rewarded those that renewed with a really cool poster. Our way of saying "Thanks!"
If you have any further questions regarding membership, please feel free to send a note to: membership@svtoa.com

I was happy to see my renewal kit in yesterday’s mail. However the pkg seal was broken and the sticker that I am supposed to stick to the back of my old card was not in the pkg. Seems the paper got hot and the sticker came off. Thanks to the US Mail Service for messing up the package enough that one end was opened & I guess my renewal sticker fell out : o(

Same here!
I really don't believe the tube was ever sealed, just received the poster and letter without the sticker. I'm fine with it though, as long as national knows I'm a paid memeber, what would I need the sticker for?

Yeah Larry I figure I may not need the sticker unless I go to an ontrack event that would require it.
Yeah teh end of the tube was open and the plastic cap missing.... sorry it hapened to your too.

No, but there's an "i" in "membership@svtoa.com" and that is the e-mail address for contacting the MEMBERSHIP manager. We don't have a membershp department at this time but perhaps in the future we could add one! ;)

Greg,
Look at the second reply in this post by John.
"Each year that you renew your membership with us, you will receive a new sticker for the back until the cards get redesigned (similar to license plate tags). Well, guys, I guess that member-ship has sailed! (OK, bad pun!)
In any case, we're sorry to hear that some of our "Mailing Tubes With Secure Locking End Caps - No Taping Needed" - have failed to safely deliver your SVTOA 2008 renewal gift (the collectible, limited-edition, full-color "SVT 15th Anniversary" poster that is NOT available anywhere else) with your new 2008 member-number stickers for the back of your membership cards rolled inside.
While the tube ends have been taped for the second batch of the April renewals that have been sent, as well as for the upcoming May and future membership renewal shipments, we want to make sure that any lost or damaged stickers shipped in that first batch get replaced. If anyone's sticker has been lost in our initial gift poster shipment, please send your contact information to membership@svtoa.com and we'll issue a replacement sticker right away.
Also, please understand that only NEW members get SVTOA Membership KITS (which are much like the membership kit you all had received last year in the big, white envelope when you first joined the new organization). Since our RENEWING members this year were already sent a kit when they had joined last year, we decided they should get a free bonus gift upon renewal (which, this year, is the SVT 15th Anniversary poster).
If renewing members would prefer that a second, replacement SVTOA membership kit be sent to them INSTEAD OF the 2008 gift poster, just let us know and we can substitute that premium for you.
And just so that you know, the reason that subsequent membership RENEWALS don't cost as much as NEW memberships is that renewals do not include the cost of printing and shipping out another member kit each year. We wanted to be the only club we know of that rewards yearly renewals with bonus gifts worth at least 25% of your renewal cost, so that's why we are trying the gift idea for folks who re-up.
Also, neither SVT Engineering nor the Ford Performance Group offer the new SVT 15th Anniversary poster for sale -- no one does but US (it's our own design)! And if you check out the prices of old Mustang anniversary posters on ebay or at swap meets, then you'll see just what a real value this poster can turn out to be (especially with only 2,000 of them printed).
We also understand that some members are unhappy that our SVTOA membership numbers do not match their old Ford-issued SVTOA membership numbers. While we tried to make that happen, it simply could not be done. (Ford did not provide that info to the club, and our system is different and cannot swap between real and historic numbers -- Sorry!)
If there are any other questions or concerns or for more information on ANYTHING that has to do with SVT or the SVTOA, you can also shoot a note to info@svtoa.com and we'll get answers out to you as quickly as possble ...
See you on Woodward Avenue!

I received the poster a couple weeks back with a letter that was supposed to have the sticker for my membership card. The sticker was missing and one end of the tube the poster came in was opened (darn snail mail). Also, when was the rest of the renewal kits mailed? I live in SE Michigan. If they went out already then unfortunately it never got here.

New members get a "kit". Renewals get the letter, new label for their card, and a free poster as a gift.
If anyone needs a replacement sticker, or have any other issues please send a note to: membership@svtoa.com
If you haven't received your kit, please include your mailing address with your note so we can confirm.
New member kits (June sign-up) are going out in the next day or so. Renewals for June will be going out later this week.
Thanks!

I'm a past member but don't remember my number as I pitched my card when SVTOA disbanded, so I registered as a new member. I sent in my application for membership weeks ago and have just received an email acknowledging receipt. When will the new membership kits be sent? Also, when will we know when 2008 GT500 production ends so we can request our certs?
Thanks for your time!

rkwahl98 - we show your membership was processed 7-5-08 (should have received a confirmation email). Membership fulfillment is done at the end of each month. So, you should receive your kit soon after the end of July.
If anyone has a question regarding their renewal info, or new member kit, please send us a note at membership@svtoa.com

I have a suggestion. I purchased t-shirt, hat, windshield sun shade the same time I paid for membership. Got the products within a week. Still waiting on membership stuff. Now, I suggest you hire the same people to handle memberships that you use to market the products. Seems to be alot more effective.

I'm glad you got the products within a week, I like to hear that, sometimes the post office likes to take their sweet old time delivering packages. :)
I'm happy to hear your input, however membership kits take considerably longer to process. When signing up or renewing, we state that you should expect your membership kit or renewal package within 4-7 weeks. That's because, for instance, all memberships and renewals for the month of July are processed early/mid-August. It's the most time-efficient way we could come up with to handle processing. As the club grows and is able to support the need for frequent membership processing, we are certainly open to changing the procedure.

What's the difference between the flat package and the "tube"?
The 'flat' package is the new membership kit, with the membership certificate, card, club info, sponsor propaganda, etc.
The 'tube' is our renewal premium for 2008, which is the SVT 15th Anniversary poster. Just a little something extra for those who renewed their membership.
