You spend so much money on the latest car/truck only for it to have way more power the next year of production. Reading all this stuff about the next L having 500 HP and 500 Torque makes me want to punch myself in the face for spending so much money on my 2002 Lightning. Ahh well I know its life and cars will always get better year to year but its still a bummer. Missed it by this much. I wonder how much HP and Trq I have at the crank right now? :(

BlownVenom, I would say your car is an exception. I see your car like I do my Camaro. I am much much faster then the newer LS1 Camaro's as you are over the 2003 snakes so its OK ;) I dont know how fast the new Lightnings are going to be but I dont think my 12.8@105mph will be much faster and it being my daily driver I have no plans to do much more to it. Maybe an air filter seing I have the stock filter and set up still in it.
But the way I see it is it wont be out till model year 2005 then I would not get the first year of production so that means model year 2006. By that time I may be looking to trade up or hell I may be driving around in a minivan by that time :wtf: LOL Ya right ;)

PS: it is a Lightning "Concept",
who know's what it will actually look like or have for a motor when it (if it) is rolled out of production for the '04 year?
I personally doubt that most of the stuff they are talking about will make it to production, and if it does it will be a $50-60K truck???
I am happy with my $30k truck thank you very much

I will probably trade in my 03 on an 06 which gives me three years on this vehicle and also puts the new generation into it's second production year - as it's not good to buy the first model year of anything especially a vehicle... ;)
