on this exhaust thing, i was thinking of getting the full catback then the thought occured to me if i change the factory set up to the aftermarket, what am i getting? just new mfflers right? i have a stainless sys. now, why not just tack in a set of flowmasters and save the bucks. 2 1/2" is 2/12"

Meldubose Most catback systems are everything from the cats to the crome tips. when you buy a catback system you can get it in stainless, in other words you get what you pay for. Hope this helps Rachrse

yes i understand what you are saying. that is why i was wandering why it would not be the same to use the factory pipes which are stanless and replace the mufflers with the flowmasters. and if so what series would you suggest? ie 40 series delta flow.
and thanks for the input and intrest. rachrse, by the way ti am in pensacola. if you are up this way look me up. there is a mustang show coming up in march 21, 22,23 chech out gulf coast mustang club site. it is usually pretty good at least for here. i have seen some nice old ones there.

Meldubose If I were going to just weld mufflers to my stock system then I would go with the 40 series two chambered mufflers. I have herd about the car show before and herd it was a good show If i can get away I will try to make it and will look you up, then I won't stay lost while I'm there. I will let you know for sure before I come your way. Rachrse

The stock exhaust is 2 1/4" I believe and less at the bends because it isn't mandrell bent.

hey rachrse, if you see this i got the mufflers put on and am very happy with it. the car sounds great now, not too loud at idle or cruising but has a nice burble and and sounds really good under wot. i also think it helped the power a little also. any way for no more than i spent i am very happy.:tmb:
