Meguiars or Zaino....I'm ready to do my 2003 Black Cobra. I,ve always used Meguiars in the past with good results. Heard lots of good stuff about Zaino. This is my first black vehicle.

Funny you posted this, specifically Black
cars. I've used many products, I haven't tried Zaino,
But this is my 1st black car in a loooong time. I had troubles
with a few products on black, but got a Meguires kit for Christmas
and what a difference, no cloudiness. They've got a newer Micro
Fiber towel that really works well, better than soft 100%
terrycloth. Real clear shine. Just my $.02:cbra:

I just did my 01 with Meguilar's Show Car Glaze followed with their #3 Carnuba Wax. First time I have used the glaze on my Cobra. Tried it out on my 69 with an old paint job and was pleased with the results. Looks real good on both cars. Haven't used the Zaino. I have used Meguilar's almost exclusively for over ten years.

At the risk of stating the obvious, one thing I can't stress enough: use clean applicators and towels! And don't force it when you take it off! My 69 Mach, which I bought last summer, is a victim of "over-toweling." It is covered with micro-scratches that show up in the harsh fluorescent light of truth. I know over time, you can't avoid some abrasion, but you don't have to encourage it.

I used Meguires and 3M wax/polish products exclusively for about 5 years. 2 years ago I tried out Zaino and now I use it all the time. The shine/durability/easy of use is unparalleled, IMHO. I still use 3M polishing/buffing compounds for surface prep, since Zaino is non-abrasive, but otherwise I use Z2 with ZFX addititive for protectant and shine. There's a link in my .sig that goes to a full size pic of my car after a couple coats of Zaino (I can throw 5 coats on within 2 hours and no fuss).

The first weekend I brought the Cobra home I used clay on the whole car. It had industrial fallout everywhere. The clay took everything off and the paint felt smoother. I used Meguires wax. I have never been happy with the shine on white paint. Then I heard about Zaino Bros. I stripped the wax and applied Zaino as per instructions. All I can say is wow. I have never had a car shine like this. Everyone who's seen it agrees. Zaino says the more coats the better the shine. Guess what I'm doing this weekend.:tmb: :cbra:

for my GT I only use Zaino, which means that since I had it repainted I have to strip the car of wax again, and rezaino it. Best shine, better than the results I got with the Mequires

clay is a cool thing that painters and detailers use. you spray some special lube on and rub the soft clay block on your paint and it gets the paint real smooth. Then you can put a super shine on your baby! I just had the Ford premium paint protection put on and my med. grey 03 cobra looks awfully good. I would wax it but I dont know if that will void the paint warranty.

I use the clay to clean the paint surface. Any good parts store should have it. After i'm done with the car I use the rest of the clay to make pottery. Just kidding but the stuff works very well.:cbra:

Yep, used that too, Z18. It is not different enough from other claybars to be remarkable. The real jewels of the Zaino line are Z5/ZFX polish, Z6 enhancer and Z7 wash. Skip the rest. Little to no diference between Z2 and Z5 'cept Z5 goes on faster.
