I asked my dealers service manager if he could run a general search for service bulletins since I'm down to a couple months of warrenty ; they stated that they need to be owner initiated w/ symptoms; SO lets start a list of bulletins to share . . . one I had involved my vert lifting very un-even , another was a steering bushing . . . I figure that most of us are in / near the same position . . . Thanks SVTer's . . . :hrs:

My top lifts pretty unevenly but I figured that was just normal on these cars since fit and finish was not top priority. My only other experience with owning a vert was a 71 mustang and it started to go up pretty much the same then leveled out about half way up.

My 2003 vert's top goes down quickly and evenly. Coming up is slow and uneven until about half way up.

I think most of the interesting SSM's (Special Service Memos) are already in the search engine of this forum for the '03/'04 Cobras. Other TSBs can be found at www.alldata.com (http://www.alldata.com/TSB/19/031917dW.html).
As for the top, my '99 and my '03 both went/go up a little unevenly. However, it's pretty easy and often helpful to "bleed" the top's hydraulic system. It's a closed system so it's pretty much just a matter of making sure the fluid is topped off and running the top up and down a few times. The pump is behind the back seat rest and the fill/check port is on the driver's side of the pump with a rubber plug in it. Shine a light in the hole to make sure the fluid is just below the lip of the port. The fluid is Mercon V ATF.
I seem to remember a TSB for covertible tops but I think it's for an earlier year. Maybe the '99.

Mine too.
I was told by a good top shop that this is normal for our cars. If you look at the hoses the drivers side is fed first before the passengers so the pressure has to "catch up", well that's what they told me.
