Hey guys I was just at my first on-track hpde at Watkins Glen with Poenix CMR, and I had so much fun I am now hooked !

I saw that CarGuys are doing an hpde at VIR oct 20-21 and was wondering how the weather normally is that time of year, I would hate to drive 9-10 hours only to be rained on....

thanks

Ian

There might be frost on the pumpkin in the morning but it is a great time to run VIR.
I instructed with him last year, he gets a lot of cars on the track but it is a big track.
Worth the trip!

Thankyou sir,

I am thinking I may want a tow vehicle to use for someplace that far from home......i am still on the fence, also TrackDaze said no trucks....but carguys said they would have to ask, but I know people who had L's on VIR......what the heck...?

First time I went to VIR I rented a U-Haul car trailer. It is a long way to try to get a broke car home.

One thing to consider, Rain is your friend at OT events. It often limits the number of folks who will run, but it offers a great opportunity to learn "smooth" driving. Rain experience can help you become faster on dry pavement.

When you ran The Glen, did you run the boot? What a fun place, even in the rain.

VIR looks like a cool place. I've only experienced it thru a high end racing simulator running a Formula Mazda.

Have fun!

Yep we ran the boot, real fun section of track for sure!

And I ran one session in the rain on a very wet track the second day.......to Quote another Lightning owner at the event "If you put a piece of coal in my butt, I'd poop out a diamond"

Ah yes, Dave has a million great quotes. "Those aren't my pants." is a classic.
