Hi everyone. My OEM tires hit 14K - and are shot... I've been doing research off and on the past month on Tire Rack, and found some that I like. But - I was thinking of getting tires locally this Saturday.

Tire Rack - Without the timeliness issue, I was leaning towards Pirelli PZero Nero M&S tires. They go for $150 each at "the Rack." (see below for shipping estimate)

Sears.com - Sigh - I know... Anyway, they have some Kumho Ecsta ASXs for $133 a piece. I checked Tire Rack's reviews of the tire, and they are "glowing." Tire Rack sells them for $115 each, and shipping would cost ~ $43 for the set of four.

Thoughts for the board: 1) Go for the Pirellis and wait an extra day or two? Are they "worth" the extra $140 vs. the Kumhos? 2) Order the Kumhos through Tire Rack, or just have my local Sears install them (I think I get free rotations).

Thanks for any thoughts in advance! I'll also post this under the "Garage" Board, too.

I just spent yesterday on Brainard Itl. Raceways road course w/ Perelli -Rosso's 275-40-19's;temp @ 95 in the shade . . . . . 135 mph set up for turn ( 1 ) ; 112 through ( 2 ) w/ very hard braking into ( 3) a 130 degree TIGHT !!! @ 45 mph ; 3.1 miles w/ ten turns total . . . Prior to this I always drove BFG's & still have them on my Cobra ; For true stick , I prefer the KD's over the KDW's but the W's are more quite ... This was my first track experiance & learned to really trust the Perelli's; next trip I'll be driving the cobra vert w/ the BFG's . . .Heres the track address :http://www.brainerdraceway.com/road/layout.html Google Donneybrooke Driving School ; there are 5 more sessions this year . . . You start w/ classroom , tour track , check out ride w/ in car coach & then 8 hours of open track time. . . :bna Oh by the way !!! lots of convertables with NO roll bars . . .
