just installed my 2.8 kb, and was told i have to open up my exhaust. I installed 2.5" new exhaust from the headers all the way back, x-pipe, Bassani... I took the cats out cause i was told that in time with that much hp i would clog the cats, would cause detination, and other problems...but the car is way too raspi in acceleration....sounds like crap!!! yes i put down 550 rwhp on a mustang dyno at 14lbs of boost, but dont want to even drive it cause it sounds like crap.....anybody have anyy ideas on how i can keep good flow and get rid of that loud raspi sound???? I think im going to add magnaflow bullitt mufflers where the cats were. kind of weird having two sets of mufflers on your car. but should flow better that cats, and hopfuly tone it down...

any help would be appreciated

Bassani exhaust systems are rasping by design. You will not have any problems with running your car with CATS. MOST of our 03/04 Cobra customers are running with CAtted X-pipes and have no issues. THose claims are the first I have heard of them. I would use a catted X-pipe OR if you can get a H-pipe OR a different Muffler system which will change the sound. Bassani is raspy...

thanks for the advise Mike, but had already installed a set of dyno max bullitt style mufflers in place of the cats and worked out great. sounds awsome. no raspi sound, just a low rummble and loud hiss from the hood!!!!

upped the boost to a max of 19, and pulled 617rwhp and 550tq....

On a 2.8L KB I believe that's a 3.5" upper with a stock lower (7.5").

I must have not been paying attention.. I just reread his post... and it says KB 2.8

For some strange reason I thought he had a GT500 :bash:
