One of the nice new features we have added to the website is the Events Calendar function that is part of this messageboard software.
This Events Calendar can greatly enhance your chapter events postings if it is used properly!
If you have a chapter event you wish to post, your chapter director can post it or I can post it for you. There is room for detailed event information- You can include a mapquest map for example, or directions to the event, etc. If all you post is a one line notice, you aren't helping folks who may not have any idea where these events are taking place. You may be able to increase participation/attendance by helping the members (or potential members) to find the event via your dicetctions. You also can include contact info- Example: "For more information on this SVTOA event, please call (123) 456-7890 or e-mail me@here.com for details!"
Lastly, I have done some minor hacks to the calendar so that navigating the current year is a bit easier. You will find "Jump to" links at the top of the calendar displayed.
Also, quick FYI: The current month will display by default when you click the calendar button.
If you have any questions or need any assistance with the calendar, please contact me.
