My 93 Cobra R production #67 is on display at Lane Automotive in Waterveliet, Mi through May 26, 2007. They are located at exit 41 on I-94 near Benton Harbor, MI.

I have owned and raced this car since new. It recorded the first road-race win, as recognized by Ford, for the 93-R on August 15, 1993 with only 33 miles on the odometer. The race was an SCCA regional event at Grattan Raceway near Grand Rapids, MI. The vehicle competed in the American Sedan class. In addition to winning the race, it also set the new class record for the track. The car was the featured 93-R at a Ford sponsored media day at Grattan Raceway on Sept. 16, 1993, and provided track rides to many notable magazine writers throughout the event.

The record for the car is 16 podium finishes out of 18 wheel-to-wheel races, with seven wins, seven seconds, and two thirds. It is featured on pages 76,77 in the SVT Mustang Cobra Recognition Guide written by Thomas Shreiner.

If any club is interested in making a Saturday road trip to Lane please leave me a message and I can set up a tour for the group. If you have never been to Lane Automotive, it is candyland for performance lovers.

Check out their website at www.laneautomotive.com and their upcoming car show May, 26, 2007 that draws over 1,100 cars and 11,000 spectators.

Great car!!! Your 93R was the first one I'd seen in person. Saw it back at Charlotte back in April 94 for the 30th Anniversary celebration.

Thanks for posting a few pics. It's great to see the car again! Does the car see any track time these days?

Thanks for looking at my message. It is fun having the car out again and running after seven years in storage.

I am registered to run the SVTOA event at Gingerman Raceway in South Haven, MI July 21-22, and the Northwoods Region SAAC event at Road America, Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, August 17,18. I will be running the open track event on Friday, and the autocross on Saturday at Road America, but just spectating on Sunday.

I may also run a couple of SCCA regionals with it just to keep my racing license current, but haven't decided yet rather I want to put in in "harms way" competing wheel-to-wheel. I have a couple of friends, one with a Spec Miata, and the other with a vintage ITB Pinto that have offered to let me run their cars to maintain my license. Not sure, it just wouldn't be the same seeing how I have run Mustangs in competition since 1987!

I hope to see you at one of the events. If you make Road America, it is an event they allow passengers and if it worked out I would take you for a few laps. Email me ahead of time if you are going to be at either event.

Laps in a 93R around RA is a fun experience. SAAC was still allowing passengers back in the mid 96's and it was fun to experience some "interesting" Ford toys on that track. Got my first ride in a GT40 there. Thankfully back then Shelby's and all weren't worth the stupid money they are now, so many owners still enjoyed these cars.

Be careful if you run that car.

If I figure out how to post a pic, I've got one of your car from 94. Not an action shot, just a nice shot of the car/trailer quietly resting in the paddock.

Picture came through just fine. Thanks!

Hard to believe that was 13 years ago. Like the old saying goes:
Time flies when your having fun!

Please look me up if you get to any of the events.

I wonder how few 93R's are still in their original owners hands. Can't be more then a couple.
