I'm thinking of moving the battery to the trunk. Any information or comments would be welcome.

I used a rather pricey box from Summitt that's aluminum but there are plenty of plastic boxes out there that are very inexpensive. I ran 1 gauge for positive from the back to the front. I routed mine inside the car but many folks run it along the frame on the outside. I mounted the negative to the rear part of the back subframe. There is a handy grommet in the bottom of the trunk to pass the cable out.
I left the OEM battery connectors up front. I mounted the 1 gauge to the positive connector and left the negative connector alone, other than wrapping both up in tape and tucking them away. I haven't had any ground troubles but I've since learned that it's usually a good idea to run a 1 gauge for the negative from the rear mount point to the front, attaching that to the block or some place similar. The unibody can gap enough that the ground weakens out from the back to the front.
I haven't put a battery disconnect on because I don't track the car. I considered putting a set of terminals on the outside of the box to make it easier to jump but I've jumped a couple of people since and it's not hard to do so I probably won't get that done :).

I'll second that.
Get an Odyssey or DynaBatt (which I believe are the same battery). These batteries weigh 13lbs as oppsed to ~30 to 35 for the stock battery. Relocating tha battery to the back is a lot of hassle and puts more weight into the car.

Now, the other hand, the battery relocate creates room for other toys up front ;). I've got my dual oil filters mounted there :D. And you can always drop a lightweight battery back there too ;).

Thanks for the excellent input so far.I hadn't considered a smaller battery.I agree the space would be great for the dual oil filters.(next project). :hrs:
