Hello cobra owners new guy here, need some information on my 04 cobra rear end. Should i beef up my irs with half shafts or go with a live axle. This car will see the drag strip a few times a year, i have not done any road racing yet but would like to some day. The car has 440 hp@rw kepting in mind i will be putting a twin turbo set up on it, hp should run about 600+. What would the cost be for ether set up?? has anybody go threw this?? Welcome to the club.
I don't drag race, but do road events.
Based upon what I've seen and read, at 600+ RWHP and drag racing you WILL need to beef up your read end. I've see some go to heavier half-shafts and the real die-hards change the IRS to a Solid Axle.
If you're going to road race, I would recommend rethinking the twin-turbos and put the money into suspension & brake mods.
Good luck!

For the owner who's looking for advise on serious mods (like you), I recommend you visit the www.SVTPerformance.com forums. There are guys there that have done just about everything!
Good luck!

With the twin turbos and if your going to be drag racing it for the most part, then I would do the solid axle.
