Picked up my GT500 last week in Dallas. Vista Blue with white stripes. Drove it to Southern, CA. Had so much fun I only stopped to rest for 3 hours. Mileage was great at 22 MPG average and there were a couple of sustained runs over 130MPH. Awesome vehicle. No complaints as of yet.

Why not come down to Texas World Speedway at the end of the month and enjoy your new car on track?

Wish I could. I'm looking forward to pushing this car to see what she'll do. I had a 69 Mach-1 years ago with 427 medium rise with dual quads (Not factory) and a 10 spline top loader. Went fast in a straight line but hard to stop and steer in the corners. This GT500 has it all and more over the older cars. !! Thanks for the invite. I'll try.

And I bet I know exactly where you went 130. :-)
How was El Paso when you got there. LOL
You should come back out and do a road run down in the Big Bend...

It was 2:30 am and pretty dark. Great headlights on the GT500 made it easy to see. I met nothing but great people in Texas on this trip and look forward to coming back. Big Bend may be in the cards for this summer. Have a great weekend!!!

You're right, these things have great lights!! My SVT Focus has the HID's and these are the closest thing to them I have seen in a WHILE! I have to commend the guy's at the Blue Oval for that one...they sure didn't look very bright just looking at the car-nice surprise! I only drove mine home for about two hours-wish it could have been a couple of days. They are very comfortable to drive for long periods. I saw a blue one like yours, bnmbayes, they look great! Looks like we may have to try to get a group up for a road trip this summer for some "touring"?! I'm in!
Would like to road trip to Colorado for some serious braking and turning sometime!
Enjoy your new ride!

Thanks Mike. I just got a good batch of pics and will work on loading some. Road trip sounds good. Maybe Durango to Golden for a cold coors via the million dollar highway. Lot of good curves, hills, and that oh so awesome Colorado scenery. Keep in touch.
