AFCO makes a good double pass heat exchanger also. They are all probably about the same, they all do the job & are a simple install.

I haven't exactly checked this out but have been thinking about a heat exchanger since my drive to Palm Springs last summer. Does the heat exchanger "replace" the radiator or air/water intercooler? How simple is this? :spinem:

I have installed the Afco Pro Series double pass available from RPM Outlet on my 03 Coupe. I use it for open highway rallies and open track events. It really knocks down the air charge temps. I live in the desert in Las Vegas.
My 03 has about 13# boost, a K & N FIPK (cold air) and am running the Diablo Predator 91 octane tune. The heat exhanger replaces the air/water intercooler supercharger radiator that is in front and down low in bottom front bumper opening. It took me about 2 hours total to install - from tool setup to tools back in the tool box.

Upgrading your heat exchanger is never a bad idea, but is definitely needed if you do a pulley swap on the Eaton or go with an aftermarket supercharger running high boost. I just installed an AFCO Pro Series on mine. It was an easy bolt up install with no modifications needed with easy to follow directions & pics. The only thing I had to do was cut some length off one of the hoses it came with, because I have a JLT True CAI & it was rubbing up against my air filter. Other than that, nothing to it. I got mine through rpm outlet also.

AFCO, www.rpmoutlet.com. Very easy to install, with a lift it took less than 30 minutes. Drain and flush the coolant in the inner-cooler system and replace it with either Motorcraft Specialty Orange or Motorcraft Premium Gold. Make sure it is a 50/50 mixture of coolant and distilled water only (not tap water). The best I can remember it's about 16oz each, it may be a little more just keep it in equal measurments.

I have the LFP with their Super-Tank. When I re-filled the system, I also added a bottle of Purple Ice to the mix.

So do you have to replace the superchager tank when you do the heat exchanger or does it really even change anything????
What is the temp differance on the air with the new cooler?
