I'm just wondering. It would seem that an SVT dealer would need a tech that is well versed in the differences SVT vehicles have over the regular lineup. I've heard rumors that some dealers have techs that leave and they never bother to get someone else certified to work on SVTs....so what is the stance n that? Is SVT supposed to drop the hammer on dealers that won't get a tech SVT certified?

See, my thinking is that a lot of our service issues revolving around Cobras, Focuses, Lightnings, etc could be resolved if there was an SVT certified tech that knew about the differences was available. I know that I'd schedule a special time with the SVT tech if it meant getting the job right the first time, rather than arguing with a tech who just swears that the SVT Focus and regular Focus use the same oil.

When we were having all kinds of trouble with our "99 Cobra I was told the dealer had to have a tech working there. But never thought about what if he quits?
I was told they had to bring someone in to look at mine once with the 1/2 shaft troubles I had.
Maybe someone knows the answer???
