So what options did you get on your car and are you glad you got them? I for one realized today I can't live without the winter package....there is just nothing that beats being able to jump into a pre-heated car via the block heater and turn on those heated seats. It really takes the edge off those cold mornings! I'm not sure what I would have done without an in dash CD changer...and the RBS aware radio is very nice too...with traffic updates and such. If the weather was more mild around here I'd open the sunroof more, but it's great for quickly letting out heat.

So what do you think about the options you got? Any regets? Are there any options you would have got had they been available?

I got one with a sunroof And I also got the Audiophile.:tmb: I did not want traction control. I got Lucky that another fellow had ordered exactly what I wanted and then he decided not to wait and took a different car. :bna I had decided I wanted black but when I saw the blue:wow: I had to have it..The sunroof is nice. So what the heck.. The audiophile was a must have.. I have had many big sound systems in the past and have the deafness to prove it. The audiophile is pretty decent sounding for factory stuff. I did not want to go and lay out another 5k on stereo stuff after spending 30k on a focus. Believe it or not my car has a block heater. Not dealer intstalled either it is listed in the standard equipment for the car. Maybe for canada they all get b/heaters. I am REALLY:) happy I don't have TC. No regrets I got exactly what I wanted:D BTW I'm not gonna drive it in the winter.:frn:

I almost regretted not getting the winter package (with the traction control), but actually I think I'm better off w/o it. I got the sunroof and that's it. The audiophile package didn't look appealing mainly because I wanted an MP3 player...and if I want to upgrade the stereo system in the car I would prefer to put in parts of my choosing.

I have all of the options available. I think that the traction control is kind of nice. Some people say that when your at the race track you're better off without it. But I didn't buy this little car to drag race anyway. Sure I'm going to bring it to the track occasionally but it's still my everyday driver. I haven't used my engine block heater yet. The heated seats are sweet. (except in the middle of July I accidently turned it on......I was like "OH MY GOD, WHY IS IT SO HOT IN HERE!?!?") I've had my share of Car Audio equipment also Bluetoy and agree that this sounds decent for factory equipment. I've had many compliments on the sterio. I'm happy with all the options I have!

I purchased all the options because I could see the value in each vs. the price. I'm glad I did.

I have the sunroof open virtually all the time (unless it's raining) & adding a touch of heat makes things fine even into the 30's, about as cold as it's gotten here so far.

Regarding the tunes, the factory system is better than the Lightning's, ditto vs. my SN-95's Mach 460, so I'm happy with it.

Jury still out on traction control. I blamed it for a lost stoplight race last week in that I was VERY careful not to get into it on the launch but was way too aggressive on the 1/2 & it came on- I felt I really lost ground here. BUT, the thing I lost to turned out to be an SHO Taurus (hey, it was late) which I'm not sure we can beat anyway. I never really paid attention to these before- even the SHO letters were the same color (white) as the car, at least on this one. More seat time will help here.

The bunwarmers are neat, never having experienced these before. If you're chilled & jump in, it sure takes the edge off before the heater's up to snuff.

The big deal to me still remains the overall package value. Take the base car, add all the options, and the thing still has so much for so little I feel like I won the lottery when I drive it. I remain convinced that this was a better streetfighter choice than the WRX I test drove. I'll still be on the plu$ side even after the blower.

early edition SHOs are not to be messed with. The later SHOs are nothing special but still something to take notice of.

I didn't get any option on my car and sort of wish I'd gotten the sunroof. Thats the only thing I'd change about it if I could order it again.

What I always find amusing is a road test on a car where it states "Base price: $18,560, Price as Tested: $24,980" or some such nonsense. In other words, the one you're reading about is in a whole different category & base is more of a come on.

For those debating options, my feeling is that their value, on this car, is as great as the base car/price.

Actually, I've always felt that the one thing I would gladly delete from any vehicle, SVT or otherwise, is cruise control. I realized, as we're discussing options, that I've never actually even tried it once in the 'stang, Lightning, or Focus!

Back on Focus, I was also impressed with the intelligence that went into some of the basics, such as the hatch release that's easy to get at when you have an armful of stuff. When you pop the door open, it's nicely right up top. Ditto for the seat back release right at the top (vs. my SN-95 at the bottom of the seat back). Also the concave tweak on the seat backs- that extra inch or so really makes a difference if the rear seat occupants are long in the leg. These "little things" really add up.

One thing I don't like is the "International Symbol gauges". It may be just me, but I feel like every time I look @ the oil pressure/temp "section" I'm asking myself "O.K., so what the hell am I looking at again?". I really feel that grouping the key stuff in one place (rather than water temp down over there, oil temp/pressure way up over there) would be SO much better.

Is it just me?

i have every option and now that i have found out how to disable the TC for drag racing, and glad i have them all.

i am currently in flordia but going home to RI in mid december so i am sure i will like the seat warmer. and i suppose the TC will be the best option to have in the snow.

My Focus has all the options....audiophile w/8"subwoofer, sunroof, side air bags, TC, antilock brakes, cold weather package.....there are two SVT dealers in my area and every Focus SVT had all the options. For the money (especially with the $2,500 rebate), I don't think you can beat it.

I can't think of anything else this car needs...

i have the sunroof and the audiophile.
in reality it is a great car and I always have the sunroof open or vented and the radio sounds nice, but I just installed a single 12" sub for the deep down bass.
Now, in my fantasy world i would have gotten the base SVT with radio delete, manual windows, fiberglass hatch, lexan windows, no a/c, no power brakes, drag radials, no back seat, no sound deadening material, no carpet, better gearing, a posi, and a healthy 12 psi of turbo.
This car is very fun to drive.
The one thing I have to comment on is the factory continentals. I have encountered more understeer due to the tires losing grip and tail wagging simultaneously that it is now fun to push the tires beyond their limits. And no, I do not do this on public roads. Where I work is a big parking lot that we close off and play in once in a while.

I love the winter package to.. traction control is excellent. Put it to use almost daily :) Love those heated seats as well.

Audiophile system is amazing. Great sound.. and I like having a cd changer in my dash, rather than in the trunk.

And having a sunroof for that summer crusin' can't be beat.

I got everything but the cold weather package. Which would have helped last week when it snowed here.

I just bought my SVT focus in late Octoer and I have all the options, and I love them. I have not used the engine warmer yet. The chicks really dig the seat warmers. :tmb:
