I need information about using my Lightning to tow a carhauler. The trailer is aluminum and weighs 1,200 lbs. The car on the trailer weighs about 3,330 lbs. Do I need to use air bags or change the shocks? How do you find a company that is competent to discuss this issue.

I added air suspension bags to mine just to keep it level while I tow a 4,000 pd/17' trailer - have no problems with it.:D
L is rated at 5,000 pds as is

As mentioned the L (2002) will tow 5000 pounds as is so you should be fine as is ;) I towed my Camaro and trailor for 300 miles. There was no problem at all.
Here is a pic :)
