Does any one know what the deal is with the break in on a 07 GT500. The manual state 5 consecutive miles or 50 start ups. The car makes about 6lbs of boost but just does not feel as strong as it should. Maybe I was expecting more. I read someplace that it should put out 10 of boost.

Any one know anything about this. Did any one see the same out of theres?

Thanks

You are correct. Drive it 5 miles, turn the ignition off and you're set. It governs to 4,000 rpm until you do so, so the SC doesn't put out full boost.

Mine had 30 miles on it when I took it home The dealer said that you had do put about 6 miles on it for the supercharger to work.
Mine worked fine about 8.5 lbs I didnt look to long as this thing is a rocket and all eyes
on the road is the best
I get about 100 mph in third dont tell ford. I have about 600 miles on mine. Having fun but taking care not to wrap her around a tree power keeps on bulding dosent come on all at once and I noticed that I was going faster than I thought
take care and enjoy

Try the J10 Computer reset which is a mandatory part of the GT500 PDI.

Anyone else with low power the J10 is:

Disconnect Negative battery cable. Wait at least 10 seconds, the reconnect battery cable & tighten to 44 in lbs. The V E R Y important turn key on then OFF without starting engine. If this is not done properly it will set DTC code P0507 and will cause a high idle condition. Engine check light will not illuminate.

By the way there is no need to turn car off as when the 5 continuous miles are driven the boost/power will come automatically. (speaking from experience of 3 different Shelby's)

If you are getting boost but it is low and you have an early car it is most likely the air filter being problem. an updated air filter has been issued

The 5 continuos miles was to just get the computer reset so the supercharger will start working. They did this to keep haulers and repairmen from getting in and joy riding before delivery. Mine gets the recommended boost just like it is supposed to. I have done a tune and that affects the boost a little but not much since it is very conservative.
