Just got my new 2007 GT500. The last time I bought a SVT product I recived information about my car, from the dealer. Build sheet, and some other stuff that was made me feel that I had bought somthing special. This time I got a hand shake. When I asked the dealer if they had anything like I just decribed that look at me like I was crazy. Did any one else have this problem. I knew more about this car then 3/4 of the people at the dealership. I have heard that SVT is on its way out, and other things like that. Is this really the case?
Was just wanting to know what the deal is.
Thanks

Call Ford Performance Information Center at (866) 377-8862.
They will give you a free membership, and explain what FORD gives it's SVT buyers.
Join your local chapter (contact Dell Hughes, I guess). Take your car to track events, just so us others can admire it, and ask for some rides in track prepared cars.
Welcome to the club!

If they weren't SVT before and lucked out in getting a Shelby, they may not have known about any 'packages'. We put a nice book together with photos of the car on the hauler (if we're there for it coming in), all the window stickers, interior shots and under hood, and put it all together. If we have any shwag, we'll give it too (I've got a couple of SVT Family posters and stuff I've personally given to customers who've bought from me). Unfortunately, Ford Canada doesn't have anything specific on the Shelby (yet) to give to customers. Hopefully soon. Have any U.S. dealers here received anything Shelby-specific? What about brochures? The CDN Mustang brochure has a little blurb about the Shelby, but that's it.

SVT at Ford is completely gone and, as far as I know, the SVT badging on the GT500 is sort of meaningless as far as any Ford supported owners benefits are concerned. You can join the Ford performance clubs but that's about it. There's no more certificates of authenticity or any of the exclusivity marketing perks that Ford/SVT created for those models.

Hey thanks for the input. I was afaraid of the SVT deal falling apart. It was very nice to have those things for our cars. I guess I will just get to work on finding out my self.

SVT is gone as we know it. SVT it still a part of Ford but in the main stream rather independent. If I recall Ha Thia Tang and Jay still hold there titles with SVT.
