Thinking about replacing the current pedal covers with Bullitt pedal covers (set that contains accelerator pedal cover without the accelerator rod). Understand that the current dead foot pedal cover is a pressure type fit and all you have to do is pull it off to replace it. Also understand that you need to heat up the Bullit clutch and brake covers in warm water before you install them. Are these both true? What has to be done to replace the current accelerator pedal cover?

Go to Mustang Weekly.com
Go to Parts and look up the set for like $89.00.
I bought these a year ago for my snake and they are real Ford, no 2nd class stuff.

The Clutch and Brake pedals go on fairly easy with just a little soapy water and determination, not really that hard.
The gas pedal comes with bracket assembly, just remove 3 nuts from old one, a little playing with the cable and you done.
The dead pedal is the real deal. cover is already set onto a bracket, remove 2 nuts,or bolts can't remember, and mount it.
All and all about 25 min. and first class all the way.
In addition I priced all the parts at the Ford parts house for $190.00,
Good luck, and Motor On..........:spinem:

Ditto what Yellow said - I did the genuine bullit pedals on my 01 cobra and it was worth it. It's and easy mod overall, but the covers can take awhile to get on.

Thanks Dave. It did take some time to install the clutch and brake covers. But it was worth the effort!

Dave,
I went with the FR500 (M-5230-M58) exhaust. Like the sound, a little loud than stock but not so much as to wake the neighborhood at 5am when I leave for work. Improved the top end (feels less tight above 5 grand) and kept the low end pull from the H-pipe. Super easy to install.

Thanks for the feedback on the FR500. I've heard very positive things about it. Other than a few that think it's too quiet, most seem to really like it. Wish I could hear one in person to finally make up my mind. I've heard the Magnaflow and I like it, but prefer the character (vs volume) of the 01 exhaust better. From what I've been told the FR500 sounds stock, just a bit louder.

The stock exhaust on the 03 is way too quiet and I'm not one to want to wake the neighbors either :)

Hey, folks...

I'm running the FR500 system and really like it. MM&FF tested it and came up with a 15 hp/17 ft lb rear wheel increase. That was enough to sell it to me. Much better seat of the pants feel, especially in torque. Mine cruises easily and pulls from lower rpms noticeably stronger than stock. WOT at high revs is really a hoot.

Someone else here months ago said it makes the 4V sound more like a Ferrari. I'd have to agree.

Quiet? Yeah, it is. If you want sound, consider Steeda (or whomever makes it for them). Heard a newer Steeda headed the other direction recently and man it sounded sweet. If you want stealth and probably the best hp gain, go with the FR500. (Being so stealth, it makes ricer spankings even more fun.)

Just my two cents. :)
