The only problem with the pulley setup is it is difficult to change back to stock if you have a warranty issue. The tune and CAI is much quicker and easier to change back to stock if you have to go in for warranty work. All three of these things will affect your warranty but the pulley will be more of an issue. Make sure you get a good tune after you install it.

Never had to change (the cai or tune) back and never had a problem. I don't have a pulley (yet) the dealer told me no problem if I had one. They even offered to install it for me when I buy one. I guess it depends on the relationship you have with them.

That's an UNDERSTATEMENT! :thud:
The Bethlehem Ford (PA) Service Manager tried to void my ENTIRE warranty, because I have S/S Brakelines.
It was his opinion that the only reason to make this mod is for racing, thus I WAS RACING! :bash: IDIOT!
Needless to say, Bethlehem Ford has lost my business, FOREVER!

When the time comes (I'm still getting used to the power I have) I think the best bet would be to call the SVT hotline number, get the person's full name and talk with them about it for a bit and have them send any info on what actually voids your warranty. That way if you happen to be away from home and have an issue, you can pull out the paper, the person's name at SVT and their number as you are asking for the idiot's boss. But then again, I'm the one suggested that if you take your car into the dealership you have a form for the service manager to sign accepting full responsibility for your car while it's in his shop, and if he won't sign it, take it to the owner of the dealership. That way no mechanic will be putting 30 miles on it just to change a blinker bulb (that actually happened with my McLaren Mustang when it was new).
I'm going make one up for the Shelby, if anyone would like it, let me know and I'll send you a pdf of it.

I have a good story. I had a 99 Mustang GT vert, I took it back to the dealer for some warrenty work on the top (not the dealer I go to now). They had it for 4 days when I picked it up, they put over 100 miles on it (gas tank was full, it was now at 1/2 tank when I got it back) a lot less rubber on the tires, burnes in the carpet and I don't smoke!! Screws were missing in the trim that holds the top on. Needless to say I was MAD!! They fixed everything except the tire ware and the missing gas. They did not apologize for anything or could even tell me why so many miles were put on it. That is why I will never go to Milne Ford again. Don't ever go there.
The one I go to now is great.

Bhartman, That service manager is an idiot!
Did you ever find another dealership that treats you good?

Dick Milham Ford is GREAT! They treat me GREAT! :)
They are not a SVT dealer, so they love getting a chance to work on my Cobra.
They inspect it with me when I drop it off and immediately cover the floor mats & seats.
VERY HAPPY! :)
I find this thread very interesting, as it seems to be a repeat of many '03/'04 Cobra threads. The '03/'04 Cobras are probably the most heavily mod'd Cobras and there has been very much discussion on voided warranties.
For you GT500 guys, read your warranty, very carefully! I think you'll find, like ours, if your engine blows and Ford can attribute it to an engine mod (CAI, Pulley & or Tune), Ford WILL void your warranty.
I know someone who went in with with a transmission issue. The service manager said that too much rubber was missing from his rear tires, for the miles on the car. So, he was abusing the car and the warranty was voided.
As vger pointed out, you need to find the right dealer, BEFORE you have issues.
Good luck!

Did you ever make up the letter or responsibility for the service manager to sign? Can I get a copy?
Thanks,
Doug
