I get my mods around the 30th or the 31st depending on shipping. I just got back from Darlington. I'll be doing the dishes tonight!!!! My wife and I both run my truck; I did have a good time but I lost today. Bone Stock I ran a 13.575 @ 100.67MPH. My wife RAN a 13.485 @ 100.21 & her second pass was a 13.536 @100.46. Man she killed me!!! I'm lucky she gets into it (that is how I got the money to buy my mods) but she is better than me, now that just aint right. Have a merry X-mas all. I need some lotion this dish washing is killing my hands LOL LOL!!!!!!!!!:spank:

Sad isn't it. They always talk about Drag Racing being such a MANLY sport but you are not the first person I know whos wife can make 1/4 trips faster than their men. I had a buddy in the Corps who's wife could launch his 340 Challenger soooo much better than him resulting in better e/ts. I don't know if I want my wife to drive mine until I get some practice of my own.
Hey, Dave said that there may be a test and tune on the 19th of January, Sunday, the weekend of the SVTOA meeting in Myrtle Beach. He said he might want to make a stop there on the way back home. If he goes and does stop there on the way back I will probably stop too. I would love to get the chance to run my truck down the road a couple of times.
Would I need a helmet? How much does it cost to make a few passes? Anyway, great #'s on a stock truck Woody, Just wait until you get your mods. If you can actually hook, it will be much faster.

Test and tune is $10. You don't need a helmet until you get in to the 7s in the 1/8 I believe ( I'm getting one just to be a little safer and a wider lap belt). They really don't check at all. The tech inspection yesterday consisted of the guy getting or tickets(that you get at the gate when you pay) writing our numbers on the truck, and us signing a waiver. Don't get me wrong yesterday was the only time she has beat me drag racing but she did do a job on me. Well, take care and be safe

Dont you ever work Woody????...............LOL.
Cool thanks for the info about the track. I was just kinda curious about what they required because I have no safety equip and my tires are getting REALLY bald.
Getting my alignment today though!!!!!!!

Yeah I work my butt off. I'm an Army Drill Sergeant at F.t Jackson S.C. That is the reason I cannot hit most of the SVTOA events but when I can get out I do. Take care Woody

I know I know, I am just poking at you .........lol.........here I am sitting on my butt at home on a MONDAY morning........"Pot this is Teakettle....over".........lol.
I was going to get snagged myself for Drill Duty if I would have stayed in...........that is what sucks about the Corps......you must do a "B" billet to stay in and get promoted past E-6. I don't know which is more stressful.......dealing with knucklehead recruits or trying to get "mommas boy" teenagers to join the service. I just said screw it and here I am......nasty civilian. :)
Anyway..........how long you been in the Army?

I've been in just over 9 years, I'm getting out in 11 months though, And getting in the USAF. My wife is a Staff Sergeant in the USAF so this way we can get stationed in her home state. And then the military can start paying for our house(Not bought yet). I hate being a drill it is the wost job in the Army. I'm an Airborne Infantryman. I'm just not nice enough for the job.

isn't that sad............NOT nice enough to be a Drill Sgt.........what is the world coming to. I was in for 6 yrs.........would have been 8 just this past Oct. That is one of the MAIN reasons I am out. Today's society has really done a number on the military in general. I couldn't even punish grown Marines (not Airforce or Boyscouts) without writing up paper work just to cover my 6. Just be prepared for some culture shock when you get into the "Hair Force". I was brought up by an "old Salt" of a Vietnam era Master Chief (Navy) for a Dad..........I had a generation gap even with my peers, much more so when I became a NCO. God what is this world coming to?

Yeah I grew up with a Vietnam Vet too Army. He would beat the **** out of his privates on the weekend when he would take me to the barracks so he could do a suprise inspection. he did not do much different at home either. but screw it I have 11years to retirement so I better get on board the touchy, feelings bus so I can get what I deserve. Take care

I tried to join the Navy, but they would not put me in charge of the launch button on the nuclear sub so I told them they had there chance. and I tried to serve my country. (True story). On the saftey issue I don't always wear a helmet but sometimes you will be in the lane next to a 108 mph in the 8th car and he could lose it and take you out. Do as I say not as I do, and WEAR A HELMET. Once I ran all weekend without a helmet and made it to the money round and was stopped at the lights and made to wear a helmet ,it blew my concentration and I lost.My son said the 9 second 1/4 mile Mustang almost crashed trying to run me down. He was probaly running 150 when he caught me . Get the picture? Drive safe and have fun ! :tmb:

Cool, I hope to be there but if I'm not My wife will have the freshly tuned truck. I'm having chest pains from leaving my truck in N.C. I get it back in about 24 hours, I don't know if I can make it.
