Hey guys, I have a two part question:
1- What shifters do you recommend for the 03 Cobra and why? Which transmit the least amount of trans noise?
2- What fully synthetic oil and viscosity do you guys recommend?
Thanks!

I asked the same question...As you probably know SVT won't give you much help on the oil...use Ford's. Amsoil [if I spelled it correectly] is the only brand that makes a fully synthetic 5-20 and it's $6.00/qt and you can purchase it online.
The shift issue has got me. I tried the Steeda Tri-ax and it came with a warning to use their mounting bolts as the stock ones would be too short. The bolts supplied were the same length as the factory which meant with the Steeda's 1/4 thick billet floor plate the bolts were 1/4" too short. This angered the heck out of me and I sent it back. I hate poorly thought out designs and this item was poorly thought out for the Cobra. The shifter as made contains no bushings that I could see and it shifted pretty well..but the gear whine is terrible. I would think taking a middle ground and using urethain type bushings would be a good compromise as Fords has soft rubber bushings. Another sticking point is the factory shifter sits too far forward and Steeda claimed their shifter would sit back farther towards the driver. It did not.
I am currently looking for comments on the Pro-5 to see if anyone likes it better.
Good luck

I would hope that somebody that attended SEMA could give us some ideas. I have a 97 and want to improve my shifting, but everyone that I know that has ever changed shifters will admit to much more tranny whine. The guy who can make the first quite, high performance shifter will make a ton of money. Good luck, keep us posted on your progress.
