View Full Version : Anyone used a Prestone Cooling Flush kit?

I'm getting my car ready for the summer, and it's time to flush the cooling system on my '98. I have not had any cooling problems to date, but I On Track the car, and I don't want any to pop up.

I was going to follow the Chilton's book; drain, fill with a commercial flush, run motor, drain. But while picking up new coolant, I saw one of those Prestone (it was just the kind Pep Boy's had) backflush systems that a friend had recommended. For $6, I figured why not. But looking at it, I'm not sure I want to cut my heater line for the T-fitting, and the splash guard looks like it won't work with our expansion tanks.

Anyone ever use one? Or any other recommendations on cooling system flush for our cars?
