I am interested in getting feedback concerning the modification that I have put on and the ones that I would like to put on in the near future. I have a 98 Cobra. Currently I have a K & N airfilter, Tri-ax short-shifter, king cobra clutch and billet flywheel. So far I enjoy the new feel of the car. The clutch is very sensitive and handles much better. Anyway, I have flowmaster 3 chamber exhaust on its way, which should be here tomorrow actually, and I am looking into a chip, MAP sensor, pullies and ignition. I have done some preliminary research but there is so much out there that I would rather trust those of you who have these parts and what you think. Thanks a bunch, sorry this is so long.

After a lot of research, I went with the Steeda underdrive pulleys, DiabloChip by DiabloSport and the MSD Ignition. The #1 advantage of the DiabloChip is that it does NOT void your factory warrenty, if that still applies to you. I've been very happy with the performance, plus you can tweek it to suit your future mods. Check out the website at www.diablosport.com. As for the MSD Ignition, I have the DIS-4 with two tach adapters. It has no detonation, drops every other spark before the rev limiter to protect the engine, burns fuel better, creates multiple sparks, etc. I have no complaints about any of these mods and would recommend you consider them.

Modifications can best be determined by how you intend to use your Cobra. I would modify a daily driver differently from an occasional use car. A gear swap in the rear may give you the performance you're looking for. I have 4.10 gears in my 96 Cobra along with the KN filter and Pro 5.0 shifter. I installed Eibach springs to lower her for appearance and installed 275/40/17's on widened stock rims on the rear. Next mod will probably be exhaust.:spinem:

best bang (most hp gain) on my 96 cobra was LT headers...picked up 22 rwhp (dyno verified)...best seat-o-the-pants mod...4.30 gears :tmb:

A set of gears is the way to go. Put a set of 3.73's in my 89 lx and it woke it up. Different car. I haven't put gears in my Cobra yet but sooner or later it'll happen.
BTW... don't forget a good set of full length subframes.:tmb:

Speaking of gears, I want to get mine installed prior to race season starts. I've been debating on 3.73s or 4.10s. A friend that also drags his Cobra recommended 3.55s. I want something good for the drag strip and for day-to-day driving. Any suggestions/opinions?

I've been debating on 3.73s or 4.10s.
Go with 4.10s. They are a good compromise for your cobra. 3.55s won't allow you to get into the rpm sweet spot and you'd be missing out on all the fun. :bna ;)

Well, I definitely don't want to miss out on that! I mean the fun of course! ;)
