Yes that's right! List your favorite stretch of road to take your SVT Focus down. Listing the highway number and the particular stretch would be nice but if it's something unmarked or otherwise a description will suffice. Have at it!

Aloha inteller, the best place on maui is Haleakala highway. Its longest strech on Maui. Yeah theres no SVT dealership on maui. What the Maui dealers did was trade one of their own cars for the svtf so thats the story on how i got it. :spinem:

Yes, I would have to say that is definitely a good stretch of road to go down. Probably an interesting challenge going UP too! :D If you ever decide to "off-road" it over on the dry side of the island let me know I wanna hear how it goes! You just about have your own rallye course there...if you could just get all those darn tourists off of Hana highway!:D

I know you were talking about the road to Hana. If you like that you should check out the back way to Hana its even better. If someone were to rally on Maui that would be the place to go. Nice flat moist dirt, not much cars, and lots of nice turns. The name of the place is called Kaopo. They do alot of hunting in that area.Of the subject but heck this out they brought a black svtf in at the local dealer and it had the cold weather package. I want to see someone pay another 3,000$ for a feature that they would never use on maui. Thats ok at least I'll have someone to talk to.:)

yeah, there is some ice cream/general store over there on the dry side, but every time we went it was closed. oh well there is always next time I guess.
that's really stupid that they have one with the winter package....what's worse is that they want 3000 more for it. I hope next year that dealer is an SVT dealer so you won't have to pay such a huge markup.

There's a great stretch of road about 2 hrs from here. It runs from Renrew to bancroft. It is HWY 28. Used to be the 500. It is 2 lane 80kph limit (way too slow) it has great twisties and tons of hills and drop offs. I picked up my car in Toronto and the quick way home would be the 401 Yawn (4 lanes and straight) I decided to head north out of Toronto and picked up the back roads near Barrie. Headed up to Bancroft and back to Ottawa. All the roads home were GREAT but I like the 28 best. (I know it well) I realized that all roads on this planet have too low of a speed limit. What a blast... Hooked for life.

HWY 412 from Tulsa, OK to Ash Flat, AR. VERY FUN. Lots of twisties. I can think of fewer places with that much variation.

Inteller, I think I drove down that road last year (in my wife's Cobra). It was great. There aren't any good roads near Chicago for driving.

On any road Im happy in my SVT. But if I was to pick a favlorite I would have to go with Strand Gatan on Gotland,in Sweden.

I am in Atlanta and we have a road in North Carolina that is real fun. It is called the Tail of the Dragon and here is something from their site (http://www.tailofthedragon.com).
Legend says a Dragon lives in the mountains of western North Carolina. He tests your skills on US129 with 318 curves in 11 miles. Everyone who comes to ride the Dragon will always remember it.
It is used mainly by the motorcycles but it is also very good for the SVT vehicles. Our group, SVT of Atlanta is going to run it on 11-11-02. I am not going to be able to go as I work at the FORD Atlanta Assembly plant and it is on Monday. I am sure that they will have a lot of fun.

Dragons Tail 318 curves in 11 miles. Had the SVT for two months been to the Tail three times.
Hwy 5 (north or south) from Kamloops BC to Jasper, AB.
400km of twists, some hills, scenic drive beside the North Thompson River.
The best stretch of road I've ever driven in Canada. Drove my SVTF on it the first weekend I had it. :)

Highway TX 16 from San Antonio to Kerrville.
Through Medina and Bandera, go in the dry season, they can get flooded!
This is a nice stretch of road that has nice corners, flat straights, relatively low number of fuzz sightings and other traffic.
During the fall, the leaves begin to turn and the scenery becomes breathtaking..
Be sure to stop in Medina during the Apple Festival and at the local Orchard shop where you can get a slice of the biggest, most friggin' delicious apple pie I've ever had.
There is another route through the hill country that I will post later. Thanks go to the fine members at LSSHOC for finding and providing the directions for this route.
