hey all, I own a grey 03 cobra and was thinking about adding an upper pulley set, but am torn between which one to get. I have heard about all the slippage problems they seem to be having with the smaller 2.8 and 2.93" pulleys. My question is if anyone has personally experienced these problems and if so, if it is worth it to get them or settle for say a 3.1" and maybe add a 2# or 6# lower pulley?
Play it safe. 3.10 upper with a 2 lbs. lower. Until slippage with upper and alternator issues with lower pulleys resolved.

I recently did the Paul's High Performance full Nosepiece/pulley swap out. It works excellent, comes with a new shorter drive belt because the pully is about an inch smaller in diameter than stock 4-incher . I have stock crank pulley. The car picked up 55 rwhp and 1/2 sec quicker to 60mph and 1/4 mile. I have no squealing from under hood, no detonation, no overheating, just more blower whine from faster spin.

Thanks for the info madmax. Are you using a goodyear gatorback belt with that set-up? also do you have any other mods besides the upper pulley? 55 more hp is amazing!

Paul's High Performance can tell you which one they use, www.paulshp.com All I know is it works. Plus, Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords did an article recently. They took a stock Cobra 03 and yanked the airbox off of it, put a 2.93 inch pulley on the nose, installed drag slicks and ran an 11.63 at 119mph in the quarter mile. That's with completely stock exhaust system, stock shifter etc. Silly speed for not much dough. Oh yeah, they also hooked up an air/fuel meter that showed no ill effects at 14 lbs. boost. All on 93 Amoco pump gas.
