does anyone know of any companies planning to or have a turbo kit in the works for the SVT? I did a search but couldnt find any threads about them before this.

:D If you are interested, check out the short article on page 44 of Jan 03 Sport Compact Car mag....Turbo Focus RS.....apparently already selling in Europe....216 hp. It has a 5 speed and a bunch of other goodies not available (yet) in the good old USA.

I dont believe the RS uses the same motor as the SVT. So basically we wouldnt be able to use a turbo kit straight from an RS.

On a couple of the focus message boards there is a guy who goes by the name of 1turbofocus. his name is Tom and he works at a dyno and engine shop. His ZX3 was featured in SCC and produced 326hp and 325ft lbs at the wheels.
The shop already has a kit for the SVT focus, although I do not know if it is for sale yet and you need to take your car to north carolina to have it tuned.
I only know of one person with this turbo on their car and it is the first SVTF to have the kit installed and is the "test car" so to say.

I would buy the kit right now, but I don't have the money and I do not really have the time to drive to NC.

the RS Focus does not use the same engine. It uses the durateq engine. It could be based off of the same platform, but I'm not sure.

I live in VA.. maybe i should get to talkin to him and in the summer try to get it turboed :bna . I still have to get the car first.. I am gonna wait for the 2003. I need to go talk to my ford dealership about when they will be arriving.

Just went into focus-power.com. WOW. I want that turbo! Might be do-able when summer rolls around. Hopefully the price goes down a bit too.
