I only have added a exhaust and reflashed my computer with the Predator Diablo, but I still wanted to take my car to the dyno and have it tuned just to establish a good baseline. Well, the results were quite good to be honest and the tuner agreed. I peaked at 152.35fwhp@6600rpms and 134lb/ft tq. They estimated about 190hp to the flywheel, so I gained about 20hp with the exhaust and reflash. Based on the dyno results we determined the best shift point is about 6800-7200rpms since the most power is at 6600rpms, this way I won't lose too much power in between shifts. 6300rpms is where mine really started making good power, and like I said, peaked at 6600. So, a CAI and throttle body should make some good power increases, so I think that's next on the list of things to do/buy. It's def expensive, $100 an hour, but well worth it to see that my hard earned money did in fact make some hp gains, and it's always satisfying to here from a tuner that does 99% Mustangs that my car was a pretty solid car and nicely tuned!! :allhail: haha, so that was my fun filled day!

sounds good man, 190 ponies, mine should then be well over 200 with what I've done to it, that's good to know. Your in Florida right, where'd you get it dynoed?

I had the dyno done at Ramsey's Performance Inc. in Tampa. Their phone number is 813-885-5913. The address is 5407a Southern Comfort Blvd Tampa, Fl 33634. They are good guys. I'd say 90% of their work is working with Fords, particularly Mustangs, however, they built a 400hp ZX3 Focus, so they know a thing or two about Foci as well. They also offer a turbo kit that requires no engine mods. It's a direct bolt on turbo kit that puts out about 245-250hp. :tmb:

FYI, I pulled 152/134 all stock.

The guy where I bought my car said the SVT put out more power than on paper, especially the Cobra. It's pretty hot right now in Florida too, if that makes any difference.

Hmmm, so are you telling me that I didn't gain any hp? I believe my DSI clip is broken, does that take away hp?

Well, when we are talking about so few HP here, there are too many factors to say you arent making any hp....but you should definitely get the DSI clip fixed, because it will kill your low end results.

I picked up 3 hp just by going to YRF0 from RLA6. If I had all those doodads on my car that you are using, I would expect 160 at the wheels.

Yeah, I went to Central Florida Motorsports today to see if I could pick up an intake and OEM replacement DSI clip that they carry only to get there and read the sign on their door that says "To all of our valued customers, we regret to inform you that we will no longer accept walk-in orders, we will only take internet and phone orders....." What a bunch of bs. I emailed them like 3 weeks ago and I asked them if they took walk-in orders and they said that they did, but now 3 weeks later they don't. Boooo!!!

Bummer about CFM. I contacted Ramsey's about programming with my SCT xcal-2. How many hours they charge you?

dont quote me on this but the exhaust usually nets u NO gain because the stock exhaust is already very free flowing, only thing an aftermarket does is change the tone. Check the other boards, the gains (if any) are very minimal, most of that increase in power prolly came from the tune. ALso a stock svt can usually dyno anywhere from 145-165 (highest i read was 165) so u really can't tell what gave u more power without a baseline stock dyno

It only took about an hour, so $100 even. I also had new spark plugs that I had them swap out for me and at first they said they would charge me a half hour labor, but they ended up not charging me. The dyno costs $100/hour for any kind of tuning.

a 152whp/134wtq would actually equate to ~178bhp and 157tq as our cars being FWD we have between 15 and 17% drivetrain loss.

SpeedOften- So in theory I gained roughly 8hp as the stock SVTF has 170bhp. Agree or disagree?

SpeedOften

yes.. mathmatically you only gained ~8hp
RWD takes out ~17-19% and AWD ~20% or more due to drivetrain frictional losses and rotational mass physics.

So front wheel drive takes less power, sweet.

armyfocus

I would think front wheel takes less power due to the fact that the front wheels are closer to the engine and transmission. That's just a guess though. I have no idea to be quite honest.

FWD is mostly more efficient because a transverse mounted engine doesn't need to route its' power 90 degrees like a conventional RWD setup.

Those bevel gears create a bunch of heat when under power and that equates to wasted power.

what SpeedOften is saying is front-drive has the least amount of power loss through the driveline as the power created has less distance to travel to reach the wheels.
