I am pretty sure that I know the answer to this question, but will Ford offer the option of painting the stripes on the GT500 like the Ford GT? My guess is no, but I think they should at least offer the option for the lemans stripes. Anyone have some inside info on this subject?

at $5300 to have the stripes painted on the Ford GT, I hope if they give the option they don't try and charge that... my press kit does not say wether they are painted or decals.. also interesting is that they offer a 'fix a flat' can instead of a spare tire of any kind. which is probably okay as the car is so darn heavy...

I saw a show this week that said spare tires will be eliminated on some vehicles due to new sidewall materials and technology. Well maybe the future is here.

Having had a car with painted on stripes from the dealer, I love having the shelby inspired stripes, but later on I wanted somthing a little different. With a decal it can eventually be somthing else.

It's not a Viper...
Money is the only object at Ford.
You could have them painted on. It's not rocket science.

I had them painted on at my dealer, did a perfect job and ran $300 less than the decals. They are going to do the hard top when it becomes available as well.

Ford only installs vinyl stripes. There is no option for painting them on. From what I have heard on other sites, it runs about $4-5000 to have them painted on correctly, in order to get them level with the existing paint and to be show quality. I ordered mine with the side stripes only and I don't regret it at all. Since I bought mine to drive, I know the stripes would have been destroyed eventually from either stuff bouncing up from the road or even vandalism. I like the stealth look also. People and cops don't notice it as much as to what it really is.
