Just bought a used factory sub for my SVTF and would like to know the pinout for it. My car does not have the high end radio in it and I have digital input for my XM so I don't want to change it out.

Thanks,

the non audiophile has a digital input for XM? man what a crock for us audiophile people.

Not exactly... I used a A/D converter and plugged into the unused 12 pin conector for the CD changer. Sounds much better than a FM modulator or cassette adapter. Plus it is a very clean install my unit looks like it came with the car

The stock SVT sub is now in my car running of a non audiophile system. Sounds good for only spending $175 on the project.

Where did you purchase the a/d converter? Cost? How hard is it to get to the back of the radio?

Thanks,
Paul

yes, I think that is the million dollar question, how hard is it to get back there to the 12 pin connection? I could plug in an iPod adapter if I could get to that.

I bought the a/d from xmfanstore.com ($70) but first I crossed the part number from PIE's website. It's the PIE "FRDC-AUX" that plugs into the non-audiophile system. It is easy to pop the radio out and wire the converter. I pushed the radio out from the back rather than pulling it. Tied the power to the key-on going to the radio and used the same ground as the radio and then you can hook up any RCA input you want. The radio will show that its signal is from the CD changer disk 1 song 1. I used the Pro Fit vehicle specific mount to hold the XM and that mounts under the radio/climate control bezel while I was there.

Just one update on the Sub... Talk about the weirdest problem?!!!! The sub will hum at low volume. BUT it ONLY does it when the passenger door is closed :wtf: And it does not matter if the car is running or not
