I've got a '98 Cobra, stock motor except for CAI and exhaust. I drive some on the street, and use it for On Track track days. I'm looking at getting a set of FRPP Underdrive pulleys.

But since it does slow down the waterpump, I want to make sure it won't hurt my cooling in a 20 minute session. I've never had any cooling problems in the past.
Any info?

The link you have posted is for a 2V application. The installation instructions state "WARNING: THIS KIT IS NOT TO BE USED ON 4.6L 4V ENGINES"
I installed the Steeda Underdrive Pulleys on my '97. They are made by ASP, and feature the one piece balancer/crank pulley. Never had a problem On- Track with them even with a 100 degree day at Gingerman last summer. I do notice the engine temp will climb pretty fast in stop & go traffic with the A/C on, but I never overheated after the install.
I never dynoed with them so I can't tell you whhat the gains were. The engine feels like it revs better, but it also did from removing the stock intake silencer also. IMO, if you're not running a taller rear gear, I'd spend the money elsewhere.

Wow, Thanks!! I mist the SOHC spec. I was also looking at the Steeda, so Iif I do this, I guess I'll go with them. I have 3.90's in the rear, and just keep hearing from everyone that changing out the pulleys gave them a bit more power. Since I've spent almost all of my budget on suspension and brakes, I thought I could spare the engine a couple hundred $.
Still looking into them, but you've saved me from having to return something and a restocking fee. Hey, you want my first born? Please?

I've had the Steeda U.D. Pullies for three years with no problems street
or track with 30 minute sessions. I also have 4.10 rear gear so I turn
more RPMs on street.
