Jim,
The owner's manual does a pretty good job of explaining how to change them. At least it did for 2000, hopefully your's will have it in there. But really all it involves is pulling up on the two black clips (they look like an upside down L) and then back a little to release from the headlight assembly. The headlight assembly will then pull out allowing you to unhook the wiring. Remove the socket and replace the bulb (don't touch it or you'll be doing this again sooner than you'd like). The hardest part seemed to be getting everything to line up to go back together and getting the clips engaged. Hope this helps!

I have a 2001 L. & had to use a dremel grinding tool with a coarse sanding sleeve ( slips over rubber attachment ) to make the hole in the back of the housing big enough to get the black locking ring off, It's a dirty job, I used a shop vac while I was removing the material. Also had to take the intercooler reservoir bolt loose, the black plastic shroud off, the air cleaner housing off, & take the radiator reservoir loose ( not off ) & move it back a little. Be careful with aftermarket high output bulbs ! I put in some Piaa ( HID ) bulbs of the same wattage & the reflective surface of the housing behind the bulb started fogging up. It turns out the piaa's run at a hotter temp. Had to have new headlight units put in, Dealer covered it under warranty this time. Good luck. Mick.:jawdrop:

Mick.:jawdrop: Mick, sounds like you have one of those good dealers.I'm glad to hear it! Jim , I'm looking forward to seeing you guys at Myrtle Beach. We are stopping off at Darlington Sunday 19th.There may be a bunch of Lightnings there from what I see on the boards. Maybe you can see what MMMGOOD is wanting to do ? I think it is about 96 miles or so to the track from Myrtle Beach .Chuck

96 miles to Darlington? Are you sure about that Chuck? I didn't think it was that far. How far is the Dragway off of I-95?

Its a little over an hour from myrtle beach.Their is several ways to get there from MB. I think after you leave the track there might be a secondary road "shortcut" back through Hartsville thru camden (Hwy 34 I think) to Spartanburg.I will have my map at the beach. However to the track from Myrtle you cross over I 95 and skip I 20 but after you leave track you can hop back on 20 its about maybe 20 -30 minutes.;)
