The Barrett-Jackson auction folks can make it happen for you! Ford will auction the right to purchase the first 2007 Ford Shelby GT500 coupe available to the public during the 35th annual Barrett-Jackson auction in January 2006. Carroll Shelby is scheduled to greet the winning bidder of the auction, and proceeds from the no-reserve sale will go to the Carroll Shelby Children’s Foundation.

Shelby’s foundation was created in 1991 to provide assistance for acute coronary and kidney care for young people. Shelby is the oldest and longest living double organ recipient, receiving a heart in 1990 and a kidney from his son Mike in 1996.

A great car, and a great cause. And you’ll go nation-wide on SPEED Channel!

Is that a power pole or a lightning rod ?

Oh, since you are in NJ you might like to know the 6th annual NMRA Ford Nationals sponsored by Downs Ford will be at Atco Aug 11-13,2006.
I have never been, but most likely will be then.

I've been to every NMRA National at Atco, I even walked to a couple of them, I live a 1/4 mile from track. They are always the hottest days of August in Jersey! 2004 event was cancelled mid day Saturday due to a hurricane coming up the coast. Hope to see you there!

I'll pass on the Shelby.I know where a good GT is for $175,000 in the showroom just up the road.Blue with white stripes.Had to pass on it also. :D

Wait another year and Ford will be offering rebates on the GT!
