Oil Starvation on Stat-up

:fryem: Any one has experience oil starvation on start-up. I checked the alldata site for any tsb's, no luck. Every time I start the vehicle, every valve rattles until pressure builds up. Mentioned it to Ford several times and they reply with the same comment, "normal". It's beginning to emit blue smoke out from the exhaust. Ford comments, it's normal.

Be sure to use a Ford oil filter. Some of the aftermarket filters do not have the correct anti siphon valve and will let the filter drain out over night and then the pump has to fill the filter before it supplies oil to the moving parts. I even had that problem with a Fram filter. Went back to the Ford Motorcraft filter and the morning clatter went away.

I should have been more specific, I take this car to an authorized Ford dealer for all servicing. They use genuin motorcraft filters, but you made a good point. Maybe the check valve in the motorcraft filters are defective.
