Hi My Name is Ryan, I have been a lurker for a while but decide to join and post.

I have two questions.
1. I have a 98 cobra vert with 4:30's It already has the 3:73 speedo gear in it from a previous installation and can I say 3:73's suck suck suck! how can I correct my speedo?

2. Can the roots type supercharger from the later 2003? cobra be installed on my motor? I have a line on one cheap with the intake plenum which I 'm assuming is the just the upper (but maybe the lower as well). what else what I need othe rthan eijectors and a fuel pump and a reburnt superchip? I have a pro-flo MAF.

I have had my cobra since 99 and want to go faster but since I just dropped 8 grand rebuilding the motor I'm reluctant to keep throwing large sums of money at this car. If the roots s/c won't work I have an NX wet kit ready to go on after the motor is tuned. Thanks,

Eatons off of the 03/04 won't work unless you do the swap out the heads for C heads. C heads are found on all 99+ Cobras and Mach 1s. The 96-98 Cobras have B heads and a slightly different intake manifold. Way too much $ to put an eaton on a 96-98. Since you are built, like I am, Nitrous would be relatively safe. I haven't put Nitrous on yet cause I like saying my car is N/A.

Welcome to the SVTOA boards! :tmb: I saw on another forum that a kit will soon be on the way to put a 2003 blower on the 96-98 Cobras without changing heads. I think it was over on SVT Performance forums. Kenne- Bell also makes a blower kit for our Cobras, this could be the way to go. :spinem:

But remember, they made the '03-up blocks out of iron because of the blower. Part of that is warranty related, but you say you just rebuilt the motor. Any strengthening upgrades?

Not really. They made it of iron cause it's cheaper. The Teskid aluminum block is actually said to be stronger than the iron block in the 03/04's.
