I JUST bought a used SVT that is out of warranty, it definitely needs the clutch TSB and the previous owner never did it...the car has 42k miles on it. I was wondering if dealers will honor the TSB at no cost even though warranty is out? or would I have to pay for Fords mistakes?

well, then it sounds like you worked the price of the clutch repair into the price.
does the car exhibit the problems listed in the TSB for the clutch? if not, they wouldnt replace it under that if it were still in warranty.
If I sound apathetic I'm not, I'm just being realistic here. It really sounds like the previous owner here is at fault, even if he wasnt aware of such a TSB, he should end up paying for it in the sale price of the car so the next owner (you) can get the matter resolved. It sounds ike he did that.
On the bright side you can get this thing fixed the way YOU want it, by putting n an aftermarket clutch and flywheel if you want. That way when you or whomever takes it apart you can see if it was truely uneven wear on the clutch (TSB issue) or if the clutch was simply worn out by hot dogging it all the time. If its the latter then you are going to need to be prepared for other things going wrong from the car being under constant stress. I'm sure the previous owner told you that he always babied it and drove it like a grandma. yeah right.

the clutch exhibits the symptoms from the TSB but UNeven wear? i dont know till it is taken apart.
Trust me at the price i got the car from i can still do the clutch and flywheel and the engine troubles and still pay less than book.
The main thing is im wondering if the dealer would eat ANY cost at all since its a TSB, I know that they ate the whole cost of my previous focus' TSB on the front springs. If they dont eat any cost then i guess i'll start pricing out clutch/flywheel combos

any dealer concerned about his costs will not eat any of the cost. a dealer is not there to compensate for fords misgivings....and ford will not cover its misgivings beyond the standard warranty. The only hope MIGHT have been to get an extended warranty on the thing. TSBs would be covered then, even though clutch discs are not covered under extended warranties normally.

is it still possible to buy an extended warranty on a car out of warranty already? I am the third owner of the car too.

you can try. It will cost a lot more than if you had bought it in warranty.
